Weather seems ok for this one

Looks a tight match on paper

Ellis will have to go ttc with plenty of help from the other lads as kent look extremely strong top to bottom.

Key man is charley powell getting among the points

Could well be a last heat decider

Tonight's U21 final won't do verges confidence any good at all as he will get beat pretty much every time so it might give Powell a chance. Nick Laurence is at reserve for us Harris at 2.

Time to put the Kings back in their place!

Some people were saying it wasn't in the rules for us to use Harris at reserve, is that the case him being at 2 and bringing in Nick Lawrence?

Its going to be a good meeting, close to say the least but will again depend on what happens with the weather, i have been told it rained most of the night last night in sussex and more rain to come in on saturday morning but not at much as last week i hope.

I am going for an Eastbourne win by 4 points only for the fact that shanes had a big crash at sheffield last night and will be a bit second hand, and verge will have knocked his confidence, Powell won a race on the IOW last night from 15 meters back so thats a positive.

I hope it will be a great match for both sides injury free. key men for Eastbourne will be Georgie Wood and Charley Powell. fingers crossed

I have just gone through Heat by Heat, including a 15 point max for Ellis I predict a score of 40-50 and 4 league points to kent.

Putting us right back in our place, top :)

key men for Eastbourne will be Georgie Wood and Charley Powell. fingers crossed

I would not get too excited about that, as the track was very wet, Cockle and Coles fell and Harvey Banks (not overly quick normaly) was "taking it steady at the back".

All that said a win is a win is a win and can only do his confidence the world of good.

Think the big difference this weekend is that Kent are aiming for another win whilst Eastie are aiming to avoid another defeat.

Whilst it certainly doesn't decide the season for each team a home defeat for Eastbourne would set alarm bells ringing whilst an away defeat for Kent would be no particular hardship.

Danny Ayres might be a little sluggish but i suspect Jamie on the spanners will be feeling worse.

He can fly up and down from scotland to Gatwick with Easyjet but thier flight record for being delayed is almost as bad as having to drive.

Its a fair shout although im not sure how easy it is to check two bikes in as hand luggage

Danny Ayres is going to be knackered this weekend: At Edinburgh tonight, Easty Saturday & 3pm start at Glasgow on Sunday

Sure his driver will be tired and not him Danny just sleeps in the bunk all the way

As S4K says, the pressure is all on Eastbourne, and their Elite League temporary guest.

Interesting that Eastbourne's intention to put Harris at Reserve and utilise RR at #2 has been reversed. Did the club make that decision, or were they reminded of the Regulations by the BSPA?

Think I remember both Ayres and Shanes beating Adam Ellis at Central Park last season (as did Morley and Baseby), so they have done it before - on a proper race track, and Adam binned it a couple of times when Kent visited Perry Barr so, to use an Al3x200 line - that won't do his confidence any good at all.

This should be a cracking meeting and harks back to the days of the rivalry between Eastbourne, Canterbury and Rayleigh. Great stuff. Lets hope they get through the 15 heats with all the riders unscathed.

we should all meet up for a pint i treat you all after the meeting if Eastbourne win and you will all know who i am dancing around with my Adam Ellis T-Shirt on lol, but i have to day i am also a big Danny fan so i am stuck this week but the winners will be the public that turn up to see what we hope will be a great meeting.

Also report were that the IOW had a crowd of about 100 people  last night so i can really see that lasting that long. would seem a shame if they never got off the ground.

well the forecast is not good for Edinburugh also for susesx tomorrow and not great for Glasgow sunday he could loose out on all the racing poor Danny

Only if Eastbourne win cat? And just the T-shirt?

With no match at the EWR this Sunday, I may well make the 500 mile round trip to the south coast for the weekend (I have relatives in Hastings) and pop along to this and take in Mildenhall's fixture on the way back. Weather forecasts aren't great and I see that Somerset's match tonight has been called off already due to warthogs on the track. Fingers crossed the Eagles v Kings fixture survives.

Adam Ellis did as well as could be expected at the U21 Final last night, finishing 3rd. Beaten by two riders who ride in the EL - oh, hang on, Adam does too  , though Robert Lambert won't thank him for messing him up in the Final. That JPB is some special talent at 15.

Yes, have to worry for the IoW. Running 'meaningless' fixtures at the start of the season may be all well and good, but an abandoned fixture won't either. Can only hope it gets better for them.
