mike7164
This is Newcastle Speedway's, not Speedways fault short term although long term it is Speedway's fault as a whole, Berwick have managed to sign riders who can make it to all of there meetings, Newcastle will of known about having to go to Thursday tracks, Friday tracks and Saturday tracks as well as Sundays but have went ahead and signed riders who have other commitments, you's may well have a better team than Berwick but I would prefer to come say 6th and watch my teams 7 riders home and away than come say 2nd/3rd and watch 6 riders and R/R at home and 5 riders R/R and a guest away due to your riders riding in different leagues and countries, you just have to make best with what you can work with Correct IMO it is partly Newcastle's fault however as stated previously I don't entity leave the blame at their door as it's also to do with the way the sport is run so shambolically but in my view that matter is now unreversible. if all riders are available for home meetings and we become very strong at home, that is a recipe for success IMO In my opinion that is not good enough as you can get and sometimes need more points on the road! Django
Good team effort from the Comets, not the best racing tonight but some close stuff, Vissing and Lambert was a good one to watch. Great to see Matt getting rewards for his efforts. Richie almost made the difference as I thought, but expected more from Rose. Good result to deny them a point. idanthyrsus
Just got back. Was an interesting meeting that Workington developed an early lead which Newcastle threatened to overhaul, but never quite managed. Newcastle top 4 were very good. Despite it looking suspiciously like Lambert forgot to open his fuel in his first ride. What stood out was that in 11 rides, the Newcastle reserves failed to beat a Workington rider. No real overtaking after the first bend. Largely I think because the narrow straights mean there is only a single place to enter the bends. Which cannot be helped because of the rugby pitch. Travelling to and from tbe track, the Weather ranged from bright sunshine, high winds, rain and snow. Down to zero degrees at one point. Robinh88
Rather ironic a Berwick fan giving it large about clubs signing riders who miss matches.. Part of the sport sadly ... Newcastle have done their best to put together an attractive side... Comes at a cost in modern day speedway

idanthyrsus
It wasn't prepared well tonight. Was smooth, but not enough water. Entirely understandable, due to adverse weather possibility. Sometimes you can't prepare a good track for perfectly good reasons.

jenga
congratulations, at least you won something and many other teams won jack s??t . we will always have a well prepared track as we DONT have people who claim to be track curators ,since the swales family left. we only have farmers WHO KNOW HOW TO HANDLE TRACTORS AND SHEEP .. curators are for the posh teams , we BELIEVE in the farmers experience and knowledge of how the land lies ... . He didn't make the gate so well, which on that track was all important. He was a lot faster than most riders, but couldn't get around them due to the single racing line available. Course he could have got passed Claus , but Claus blocked him , very overrated in my opinion , Lambert couldn't have polished Richie Worralls boots last night . And if Newcastle had brought Kus, would have been a total different score line .
