E I Addio Posted April 15, 2016 Report Share Posted April 15, 2016 5 of the riders never even rode for swindon last year and this was only the second home match of the season so not sure how they knew about home track advantage !. The wolves riders had no problems with the track .what happened with the tac sub why did not used it with doyle earlier ? Just a thought, but according to the Speedwáy updates texter 5 of the first 8 heats were won from gate 4, and the Swindon riders were talking to Ronnie Russell. A bit later on the texter said Swindon riders were not happy with turns 3and 4. It makes me wonder if the track prep was done a certain way for press and practice and the first match then done differently for last nights match so whatever slender advantage the home team had on set ups etc was lost. It is a classic way of teams losing matches that they come across an unexpected home track condition that messes all their set ups up. It's interesting that in the second half of the meeting Swindon started to chip away at Wolves lead so possibly some at least we're getting their set ups sorted. If a rider is expecting to ride a certain line, and it's not there, that's one ride gone. Not saying I am right, just a possibility , but if that is what happened maybe the fans shouldn't be too hard on the riders and look at the management. Maybe when the new track is ready things will improve. Only a couple of months now isn't it? How come so many others saw Rosco's team as Premier league standard plus Doyle, but he couldn't? I was only going by the updates, but it seems odd the team did OK against Coventry and so poor against Wolves. If the track was OK Tungate and Sedgemen obviously need to up their game if they are to survive. A pity because I really got to like Sedgie when he was at Lakeside and one of my outstanding memories of recent years is seeing him come from the back to beat Freddie Lindgren. He also beat Greg Hancock at Lakeside so he has the raw ability , although for some reason he doesn't seem to be able to develop it. Looking forward to seeing how he goes at Lakeside next week. Now lets get off to a good start at home. For some reason I think this first home meeting will be our hardest test. 5 new riders and big pressure. Sure Swindon will be making changes as soon as they can. Sedgemen for Zengota? I certainly never wrote the Wolves side off as think they are the real dark horses. Think Rohan will be the first out the door but Justin might follow if we have to do the same as last season & make 2 changes to fit a PROPER heatleader in. We had our usual collapse on the right hand side of the programme as Swindon fought back mainly through the additional rides for the excellent Wright who set an example to the other Robins by just getting on with it rather than moaning about the track. Not many negatives for the Wolves as everyone contributed including Morris twice passing Nielsen for a point. Would be nice to see a bit more consistency from Joonas and Mikkel as they were a bit up and down. Hope Fred can continue this form when he is back in the heat leader role. If they continue to be slow out of the gate Wolves may win, but I am hoping we get a win but would not be surprised if Wolves got within 6 points. If they are slow out of the gate at least the riders can overtake on our track, something that was very difficult to do last night on that micky mouse one. After seeing the shower of s h I t e at Swindon last night......what a laugh.....passing? what passing,there was more at Leicester! Not if the updates are anything to go on there wasn't. For me, you can expect some poor meetings from Tungate and Sedgeman. It's Nick Morris that is my biggest concern because he is there as a heatleader and at the beginning of last year looked extremely good. He seems to have lost the spark that gt him selected for Australia last year. Hope he can get it back. It's a while ago Sedgeman rode for Lakeside. As for your petty jibes about Lindgren.. yep, one wonders how on earth he finds himself in the first GP of the season when as you say.. "Everybody beats him" One must ask.. if 'everybody can beat him', why weren't the Swindon riders all beating him? I think that had a big effect on both Nick and Troy Bachelor. It's easy for people to forget that they are human beings sometimes. When Darcy came in the whole Swindon team seemded to go on a massive high, and that was suddenly pulled away in a cruel fashion. And Troy and Nick, of course, are also Australian and friends of his too.
