Daytripper
Disagree great stuff for me, where are the same old suspects bullies of the forum where is Witcher? ( who does not understand the word Opinion). Not surprised you think it's great stuff Sid , given your own record of abusing other posters, but the bottom line is this is a Speedwáy forum. Go back to his post #315 and you will see he has made 13 posts since then, not one of them constructively about Speedwáy and all of them sniping at other posters . Not only against forum rules it's pretty childish as well. Most of us would like to see the sport discussed even if you like reading boorish tripe . And what, may I ask, have you added to the topic in your last two posts? I was asked a question and I replied. You talk about sniping at other posters, and childishness, and have then produced two posts that have done exactly that. Not just sniping at me, but at Sidney too. Pot / Kettle. I take it you are one of the Forum clique. So well done, your actions have resulted in four posts on this page that have not been about the thread topic. You have the option to put me on Ignore, or Report me. Please do so, if I upset you so much. Thank you saying that my family and I are boring. So not just insult a poster, but insult their family too. That is way, way out of order. Enough of 'Daytripper', lets get back to the Thread. Enjoy your Speedway. E I Addio
I give people abuse who deserve it,☹️ You sure do Siddo, and you are famous for it and for getting suspended. A legend in your own lunchtime. But if we can drag this thread kicking and screaming back to topic, I see Mick Horton made some interesting comments in this week and last weeks Speedwáy Star about Poole. It's all very well for Ford to be disparaging about other clubs but when people like Mick Horton and Neil Watson feel they have had enough and are disheartened by it all the alarm bells much the same way as the fans feel should be ringing . It doesn't seem that all is well at BSPA towers.

poole keith
i think all mr horton is trying to do by continually crying about poole and matt ford is to deflect attention away from his own woefully inadequate abilty to build a decent team

AFCB Wildcat
Always thought it was more Bournemouth and Boscombe rather that Bournemouth and Poole (or Poole and Bournemouth). Wasn't AFC Bournemouth once known as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic? That is correct but ‘Boscombe’ was only retained as a connection to their former name of Boscombe FC when they played in the Bournemouth district league before representing the town at national level. Boscome is a district within the borough of Bournemouth not a town in its own right so Steve is correct in that both AFCB & Poole Speedway represent the whole of the Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch conurbation and the attendances at both venues are a mix of residents of all of these towns and the surrounding smaller rural towns & villages. Back to the topic though, I’ve seen a few threads over the years with posters urging promoters to ‘wake up’ & ‘get out and promote’ without receiving the abuse that RP has on this thread just because she defends Matt Ford so that seems unfair. I have the utmost respect for all promoters as it’s basically a hiding to nothing & without them there would be no Speedway but it has to be said that Matt Ford has raised the bar. He is passionate about Speedway & has taken on Speedway as his full time business & livelihood and how many of his critics would be brave enough to do that when historically Speedway has been run as a hobby or sideline to the promoters main business? He knows what his customers want and is hardnosed in going about achieving it but that’s business. I find it laughable when I see ignorant posts on here suggesting that it’s somehow easier to promote speedway in Poole. You reap what you sow & there are major roundabouts across the conurbation sponsored by Poole Speedway. Go to Bournemouth sea front & there are advertisements on the promenade railings. I was in Poole today and in the main shopping centre there is a unit with a large screen TV in the window showing Speedway action, a bike on display and trophies in the window. All the things I’ve seen posters urging promoters to do over the years on here he has done but then gets ritually slaughtered as the ruination of the Elite league.

You do realise where the sport is heading right? Its about time promoters speak out if they feel something is fundamentally wrong, to many just go with the flow. We all raised concerns after the AGM about all these issues, its ok for us go say it but not a promoter unless its Matt Ford because he has a good team? You'd listen then wouldn't you?
poole keith
firstly woz i agree with the various posters who have called for greater transparency on voting at the agm,but if issues are decided by majority and 8 votes available 5 promoters must agree(ignoring abstentions or chairs casting vote)so you cant blame only one promoter when 4 other promoters have voted the same, who knows possibly mr horton was one of those five. if next yr poole team is pretty average and mid table i wont come on here and blame promoters of other clubs.I do realise woz, speedway has some problems but in the elite league the big problem is that swindon, lakeside and coventry have serious stadium issues hardly matt fords fault, and with poole town now only 2 promotions away from the football league and no stadium who knows what stadia uk are thinking?? More to the point is what will Poole Council be thinking about it all if and when the time comes?! Back to the theme of the thread - the point of the article and title of the thread 'Matt Ford - No sympathy' is that MF has no sympathy for other promoters who voted in the current rules, allowing Poole in particular to put together a team which on paper at least looks a lot stronger than most but on the downside has already lost both its away meetings!! E I Addio
But is Horton just moaning or is he moaning and trying to do something about it? I think you need to read the comment to take a balanced view on that. Personally I didn't see it as moaning as such. I read it as him expressing himself in a fairly upfront way and more's the pity more promoters don't communicate in quite the same way. He's got his faults like everyone else but at least we know where he is coming from, unlike the rest of them that just keep quiet.

The track would just be re done and made bigger to accomodate a full size pitch, without the need for the corners to be added and taken away, But i can't see that happening for the forseable future, so i wouldn't worry yourself.. A ORLOV
No need to make the track bigger for the football, have you not heard that when the super stadium is built at Swindon Poole will hold their meetings there.
