Steve Shovlar
It was Mike Golding who told me what happened. I was told Norrie Allen wouldn't budge one iota and Matt just had enough because it was going nowhere and he wasn't prepared to pay the huge increase Allen was demanding. I doubt there wasn't a single Poole fan who wasn't gutted at the outcome. Its clear where the blame lies in all this. Mark Loram should have sat down with Norrie Allen before the bargaining stared and said, get the best deal you can but don't jeapodise my team berth. Instead Allen went in there and without the slightest bit of flexibility promptly put Matt Ford in a position that left no manoeuvrability. If, after hearing nothing from Matt Ford after a couple of days, why didn't he right him and try to sort something out? If it meant backing down so be it. Instead he lost his place and ended up at Peterborough on probably a lot less money than he was on before. From then on his career went downhill. Matt Ford is shrewd but he would have wanted Loram back, especially as he was World Champion and the extra sponsorship that would have brought to the club.
SCB
Since when was not agreeing a deal with a rider a sign a promoter is a bad egg? Typical. We're discussing Poole cheating and the BSF has gone off on a pointless tangent about something totally not relevant. If it was any other promoter nobody would care, so what? Matt Ford did what he had to do to win, what exactly did he do wrong?
Red Panda
I find it very amusing that some people are coming out with stuff that unless they were a party to the conversations between Matt Ford and the people who were involved in person have nothing to base their so called facts on............. No team is perfect but you seem to like to rip Poole apart............ The items in the press which I would have read at the time mean nothing...........we all know that the press bend the truth to suit their purpose...........its a pity some so called fans like to do the same.............. There are two in particular that have posted stuff which in no way is factual..................and tantamount to libel.............unless you were involved in the conversations between Matt Ford and the parties involved then you know nothing............I doubt that those involved have ever spoken to Matt direct about these allegations............and would not have the guts to question him either.............so either put up or shut up............ Some people need to put their own teams in order before trying to knock ours down............ RP

The Voice Of Reason
there are some promoters out there which I do not like but I do not go round posting anything that could be defined as borderline slanderous.............. RP Nor does anyone else - quite simply, because that's actually quite impossible to achieve. When you write, or in this case 'post' something on a forum, the correct term is libellous. Slander is an action that is spoken. If you are going to use long words, then please take every care to ensure that you are actually using them in the correct context. Otherwise, your responses have the depth of a grain of sand.
Steve Shovlar
Anyway thats this weeks bitch fest about Poole and Matt Ford over and done with. There will be some other post next week which will start the usual suspects off again searching through the archives of the local rag to find something else to spew on about for a dozen or so pages. What can we expect next week? Matt Ford ate a baby? Edited April 11, 2016 by Steve Shovlar

Let's keep it slightly realistic shall we! 😂 The only people that should have a problem with Poole not keeping Loram is Poole fans. Why is a Coventry fan so bothered, it's bizarre quite frankly. You are more obsessed with Matt than Starman is and that is saying something. Maybe spend more time trying to help save the club you support and less time searching for articles to support your anti-Poole crap. Just a thought.

What can we expect next week? Matt Ford ate a baby? Isn't it strange that this has been going on for nigh on 10 years now. Isn't it strange that many, many posters who used to post and 'bitch' as you say about Poole and Matt Ford now don't.. because they've given up on the sport completely. Isn't it strange how the more Poole have their way in the running of the sport, the emptier the terraces become. Matt Ford = Great for Poole.. Cancerous to the sport as a whole.

Sherborne Green
Costs are a big thing in reducing crowds not only in speedway but many other sports. True EL have fewer matches and it is not every week as it used to be. However the costs do mount. You have to take into account not only the admission but all the other costs like getting there etc. I live getting on for 50 miles from the track so fuel costs to get there is around £10. Parking £2. Programme £3. Entered E for two over 65 is £28. You are already up to £43 before buying any food or coffees. We are lucky we can afford to do this but defiantly not for 16 plus matches a season. Should we be a family of 5 the costs even with a family ticket would be £47 plus all the rest so before food and drink £62.

Daniel Smith
Matt Ford = Great for Poole.. Cancerous to the sport as a whole. That reference isn't just Matt Ford though is it. There is no evidence anywhere from any other promoter that they're interested in British Speedway's future All sports & business in general is all about "What makes me the most money". Every club is looking after no'1. Matt Ford isn't Speedway's biggest cancer, it's the way the BSPA has been run as a whole over the last 20yrs.
