Bspa Warning About Live Streaming

Recommended Posts

The strange thing is that Bet 365 spend over £75,000 installing all the satellite uplinks at the tracks just for one season.

If somebody wanted to provide a streaming service that is one expense and hurdle already completed as that equipment is still in place at all the tracks I have visited recently

any members on here actually sat at home watching this?

I did, but only because it was there...

I still attended the matches I was always going to frequent, to watch MY team, but watched many a match with two other teams that I had no affinity with, with a glass of something in the comfort of my armchair...

Made a few quid too!!!

Shame it isn't on anymore....

Speedway in this country now is pretty much down to the 'die hards'...

Let's face it, if we have accepted the 'Barry White' that has masqueraded as a 'professional sport' over the past 20 years or so then quite frankly nothing is going to stop us attending in the future...

Having a Speedway meeting on Periscope will for me, not prevent those 'die hards' from attending, nor will it bring in any extra punters having caught a glimpse of the sport....

I would suggest more of a threat to the crowd levels is the recent penchant for calling off meetings several days in advance seemingly on nothing more than someone observing 'Incey Wincey' building her web anti clockwise...

Even the 'die hards' may decide to say 'sod it' a lot more regularly if that continues..

Maybe the BSPA should consider sorting that out as a priority rather than spending their time worrying about someone filming a Speedway race from a phone...?

To have a "periscope type app" behind a paywall could bring thousands of pounds into club coffers over the course of a season.

Charge a fiver to watch a meeting of Say, Wolves v Poole, if advertised, could have 300plus people watching not just from Poole but many other fans from other clubs. The money could be split 50/50 between clubs involved.

That 1500 quid on one stream. 300 people should be easily achievable. It doesnt need hi tech for this to work, just a 4g connection and a camera hooked into a link. Very simple to do.

So has Shovvy received his lifetime ban from all tracks for his persistent rule breaking using periscope? If not - why not? The evidence is there!

Yawn.

The rule was introduced years ago and can be found in every match programme ever printed! It's not new!

I'd love to see that one stand up in court. "Your honour, Steve Shovlar broke the rules printed in the programme that you have to pay £3.50 extra for if you want it"

"So if he didn't buy a programme he didnt know the rules?"

"Correct"

"HaHaHaHaHAHAHaHaHaHaHaHa"

The rules have to be published at the turnstiles or on the ticket. Or at least a notice that the rules of entry are available on demand.

Correct, any rules have to be published and be available at the time and place the ticket is booked or purchased.

Also it would be impossible to have an offenders photo at all other tracks if the offender refused to have their photo taken.

Just had a quick look on Twitter and there is no @skysportsspeedway that I can see. There's boxing, golf, darts, F1, statto and news. So the question is if Sky can't be bothered why aren't the BSPA approaching them for permission to put heats that are not Sky live meetings on social media? Assuming Sky are the actual problem.

Not sure if I understood your post right, but if you are saying that there is no Sky Sports Speedway Twitter account:

just a heads up but if any elite team was to drop out at the end of the season then that would give sky a reason to drop speedway as the bspa would of failed to provide an 8 team league assuming of course that no PL team was to move up ....

i think there would be 2 years left on the contract after this year
