All well and good to call off two days before event but no reason given

they have given a reason on the buxton website. the rain that both tracks have taken in the last week, and rain forecast today and tomorrow won't allow them to work on the track.

John Leslie - Both clubs have agreed that with the weather as it is and what we have had previously over the last couple of weeks the damage is already done. This week alone we have had rain, sleet and snow in Buxton. There is no way we can run at the weekend so why not let everyone know. Don't see why we are criticised for letting people know in plenty of time, damned if you do and damned if you don't. Some had pre booked accommodation and hopefully an early call off gives everyone chance to change their plans and not waste their money.3

Fredbogge - a press release explaining the cancellation was distributed at 12pm today.

They did indeed. The snow last week caught many out and people were stuck in some places.

you have to do what you have to do whats best for your club. Some will be disappointed, some will be pleased that it was called off as early as possible.

Good luck to Ben he has done more meetings since he left Eastbourne then Eastbourne have done since he left, wish him all the best, seems he might even go to stoke later in the year all local to him such a lucky lad, but i guess good riders are in demand still cant seem to get my head around why he never went to Belle Vue but they still have not had a meeting yet.

My Kids a hassling me to take them to speedway but at age 6 and 3 night meetings are out of the question so i thought how about Buxton, Fairly close etc... But then checked the prices... although the website is showing 2015 admission surely thats not correct £12 adults seems steep but then £3.50 per child !! thats more expensive than going to EL Or PL speedway.... or have i missed something ?

I think its Buxton that are missing a trick here. £12-13 seems to be the going rate for NL speedway these days (although i think it should be £10 across the board) but as posted above most places are free for children under 12 and some up to under 15.

Not sure how you would get on putting your children on each others shoulders and employing the long coat technique?

In all seriousness im very surprised Buxton operate this way in regards to children charging as they come across as a down to earth family friendly club.

Good luck Ben, only another 9 clubs to go to get the full set.

Yes, good luck to a good bloke. Never say never on doing the full circuit in a season. Ben Hopwood the 2016 nomadic speedway rider.
