Swindon - Wolves 7.4.16 Meeting Off

Recommended Posts

Wolves visit the Abbey this thursday with one change in the team, Steve Worrall in place of Kyle Howarth. Swindon have their normal team.

The Robins should win this meeting but I can see Wolves possibly getting one point.

With only one meeting under our belts, there is no form guide to refer to. I tend to agree with your view and would be pleased with a point.

What's the local weather saying? Its showing rain most of the afternoon on the local site ?

Chance of heavy, thundery showers, possibly getting organised into longer spells of rain early afternoon..

So, call it off now, save people leaving their houses at 6.30pm and wasting 1 hour of their lives..

Well, blow me down!!!

The above post I made was meant to be a sarcastic one!!!!!

The weather is improving this afternoon, chance of thundery showers, but risk recedes after 4pm, even less chance of any rain this evening after 5pm...

Another meeting called off prematurely..

As a fan, i would stop planning any speedway meetings into my diary now completely, and just go if the meeting is definately on, and I hadn't planned anything else. If any other events that crop up on the same evening as a speedway meeting, I'd plan that in instead, knowing that planning a speedway meeting into my diary, is just to iffy....

British Speedway meetings are now less likely to go ahead in dodgy weather than cricket!!!!!

If you were in Swindon I think you'd agree it is the right call. Why race in wet conditions in front of a small crowd when there is a spare Thursday the very next week?

When the new Blunsdon stadium with roof is constructed will mean no more rain-off fears. Perhaps should just have speedway in May/June/July/August/ September, it seems half the dates in these months are race-free Thursdays anyway. September and even October are normally better than April, although last year April has some great weather. No meetings planned for September at Blunsdon, although Easter was colder than Christmas. The only definite meeting for me is The Cardiff GP. Have to feel sorry for speedway fans wasting their money travelling to rain-offs, and as a cricket fan as well I've seen a few of them.

Would rather have an early call off rather than wait all day, get to the track and the meeting is cancelled. Also some of the riders travel a long way, anything up to 3 hrs to be at the track by about 6, longer if any Wolves rider lives abroad.

With the call off I can now do a shift of pole dancing tonight.

Where is the Polish dancing in the Borough of Swindonia? or is it in Foxies Gentlemen's Club Theatre Square?
