r77toy
We will be visiting from the US for the 1st time. Planning to go to Somerset Friday night for Premier League Pairs, what other events are in the area that weekend? Where is a good place to stay to be central for the most events? We're thinking about renting a flat or studio around Chippenham, Bath or Bristol from thursday until monday. What's the traffic like in Cardiff saturday? drive or take the train / bus? Thanks in advance for any info.

r77toy
Thanks for the suggestion. Also looking for Autojumbles, Flea Markets etc. Also any suggestions about places to eat, things to see, not the common tourist stuff.

One of my trips down Somerset/Plymouth way this year will take in the Forshaw Speedway Collection at the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford and the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton. van wolfswinkel
You could stay in the gorgeous county of Wiltshire...great places to stay in Chippenham, Malmesbury, Devizes, Swindon areas, edge of Cotswolds, you also have Marlborough and the famous Downs, The White Horse Hills, Avebury and Stonehenge. Bath(The American Museum), great place to eat is Green Park Brasserie in Bath, good food and live music in old converted rail station near City centre. Somerset and Cotswolds are well worth a visit. You can get the train to Cardiff direct from Swindon or Bristol, and from Bath and Chippenham. Swindon about hour-and-a-half drive if no traffic on M4. Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire on Welsh/English borderlands also handy for Cardiff, good rail and road access. Enjoy your visit. r77toy
Does anyone know of a flat or studio for rent July 6 thru July 11 around Bristol, Bath, Chippenham area? Looking for something with 1 bedroom, a kitchen and washing machine. I would rather spend my $ with a speedway supporter.

A ORLOV
Just got an email from Poole, they aren't racing until the 11th, any other races on the 6th? Only Kings Lynn - Kent National league, but Kings Lynn is a long way from Bristol. Â Just keep an eye on speedwaygb.co website, where it lists the monthly fixtures as a meeting may be added. r77toy
We will be in London (without a car) on the 3rd, maybe we will ride the Metro to Rye House vs Cradley. How late do the meetings usually end? worried about catching the Metro back to London, looks like the last one leaves Rye House at 10:48 Â Thanks again for all of the advice

How late do the meetings usually end? worried about catching the Metro back to London, looks like the last one leaves Rye House at 10:48 Â Couldn't tell you for definite when the fixture on 03 July will start, but this weekend the Raiders meeting starts at 6pm, so you would have plenty of time to catch a train back into London. On Sunday, the journey out usually takes about 40 minutes, while the journey back into the City can take 50 minutes. The track is an easy walk from Rye House train station. (To be honest, you're best not to have a car for a London trip.) Â If you do decide to go, you should visit the Rye Fish Bar at the track, and give Ashley Morris a cheer. In my opinion, Hoddesdon is a great little race strip. Â Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip and the weather treats you well.

If, for any reason, it turns into a double header then the start time could change to 2 or 3pm with an even earlier finish.
Triple.H.
If you have a travelcard/oystercard for your time in London I think it will cover your journey to and from Rye House. I'm sure any London based forum members will know for definite.
r77toy
Is there a pass that covers transit in London as well as the rest of the country? It would be great to be able to use the same pass for our Bristol to Cardiff train rides.
