waiheke1
Wonder how the track held up so well? The forum track expert has made it pretty clear that drainage makes no difference to the surface...
g13webb
Thoroughly enjoyed the British Final on what is a tremendous venue. The track held up well in the adverse weather, and I imagine will produce even better racing in the dry. Sure is a speed track that creates loads of excitement. King was a deserved winner showing his top form when it mattered. The honours escaped Cook for the second year running, and Lambert continues to impress. Never seen him gate so well, probably another day, he will make that top step,,,,,, A lot of riders performed really well. Richard Lawson, Steve Worrall, Paul Starke, Josh Auty, Richie Worrall, all deserve a mention. they had a night to remember. I expected more from Scotty Nicholls, while Bomber was an embarrassment. Be interesting to see if Rosco is strong enough to pick the riders who performed at Belle Vue last night or go back to his tried and trusted mates......
Daniel Smith
Question of the day. How wet did those people on turn 1-2 terracing get as they ain't able to move to a dry place. Did any leave before the end? Were they getting filled in or is the viewing area far enough back?
Gavan
So, the Weather was crap the crowd was crap probably a combination of the weather and the roadworks the racing wasnt much better. But given all considered we'l give it the benifit of the doubt, and see how it is when you get decent weather if you ever do, a decent meeting a track that has lines not half a track that the outside is so deep you cannot move. Then we'l see.. Well done Danny King, he wanted it more.. this was your post straight after the meeting. Basically showing that jealous streak in every word. The weather was poor you can't help that but the track was magnificent the way it held up to the rain all week but no you don't mention that. Benefit of the doubt???? There has already been some great meetings there already so everyone knows the track is great only an imbecile like you would moan about the track last night. Lots of racing lines and lots of passing starting from King in the first heat through to King in the final. Lots of different lines but yet your such a prat you fail to acknowledge that. Seem to remember Cook and Steve Worrall passing on the inside yet Lawson King and Auty going round the outside. As most on this thread have pointed out you are just the thickest fool on here . Go back to getting your head up Matt Fords ass and let the adults discuss the British Final...... a final where yet again Poole had no riders.....Kyle Newman lol
SPEEDY69
Why would he want to try different engines tonight of all nights. He had a couple good races in last week's gp, so he knew that engine was ok. It must be him/his team that cannot seem to get the bike and conditions tuned in. Yes may be right with getting the setup right but with his experience it shouldn't be too far off what everyone else was riding - I remember Nigel Flatman used to bemoan his equipment week after week as an excuse for poor results, then Billy Sanders hopped on his bike and won in the fastest time of the night! I think to blame his bikes is simply an excuse for a poor night of riding by him.
screm
Congratulations to Danny King on becoming Champion, best rider on the night. Track seemed to stand up well to the rain but the size of the crowd must be a concern, yes poor weather, Sky coverage, work night meeting will account for some of the missing but I thought there would be more there. Obviously Saturday night would make more economical sense but how the BSPA would get that into the schedule would be the biggest issue as you would need all the other Saturday night tracks not to run and would that mean we would lose more riders who would prefer to catch their Saturday flights to Poland to practice though I suppose a tougher stance from the BSPA would cure that problem. On thing though now is crystal clear, on last night there is no way Alun Rossiter can pick Chris Harris for his Team GB. Woffinden is in no matter what, the next three should come from King, Cook, Lambert and Nicholls, probably in that order. Rossiter was saying last might watching the meeting was making his choices harder but in terms of Harris IMO it cleared that dilemma up easily enough. Wackie
It never ceases to amaze me how thick speedway riders can be. Cook gates, all he has to do is go out into the dirt into turn 3 and the title is his, instead he lets King just ride right round him. Awful, awful, awful. Well done to King for having the sense/balls to ride the right line! Oh come on, Cook doesn't come across as being overly intellectually blessed. He's got to remember to keep the throttle open, multi tasking by thinking of what line to ride is probably a little out of his comfort zone. Try reading my original post after the meeting again, then read it again and again. Clearly you are a daft as the rest of them on here, because i don't dance to your tune and tell you what you want to hear..Gavin... There's a few notes missing from your tune Starry! Mike.Butler
I was on first turn at front. I did get wet but it never rained hard so was bearable. I got filled in a few times but I chose to stand there for the excellent view. The dirt gradually moved out but its such a wide bend it was ok. Many more stood alongside me and all seemed to enjoy it. I will try another part of the stadium on my next visit. One gripe was that getting there early (as we were instructed to do) meant that the catering in that area wasn't up and running so a much needed cup of tea had to wait 45 mins whilst their urn heated up. As for traffic, coming from Liverpool by taking the inner ring road north rather than the signed diversion off Mancunian Way my journey was to ad from fine. Then we'l see.. Well done Danny King, he wanted it more.. racing wasn't much better oh dear, I think if this meeting was at Poole you'd be praising MF and all for a fantastic meeting... gold medal for being a 'blankety blank' ... (fill in the correct words) You call that proper racing if Sky hadn't have been there it would have probably not run.. As i said, lets see what its like when they get decent weather, if they ever do, then we'l make judgement. So how come the times were on par and very close to the track record... how come the riders were full of praise for the track... how come we didn't hear of any riders wanting the meeting off due to the track being unsafe.... (good god, even on a perfect day in sunny Dorset the Poole track is shocking) Think of the bigger picture for once (if you can) and give praise where praise is due. Believe me, you'll feel better for it.

A ORLOV
Congratulations to Danny King, have not seen him ride like that for ages. If any team needs a guest at BV Danny must be the first choice. Shocking decision by ref re Garrity starts, apart from the first one, they were ok, the problem was the lag in the centre of the tapes going up. Jason opened the clutch when the lifting device on the gate started moving and the camera showed the tapes bending. The tapes need to be tighter. ARosco has stated his choice for TWC has been made easy but I wonder if he needs to see the four in the final plus a couple of others ride there on a drier track, as who knows what the track will be like when TWC comes round. Kings Lynn are due at BV on July 1st so that is an opportunity to see how Robert Lambert performs again So is the team going to be Tai plus the four in the final, with S.Worrall at reserve. The Poles, Danes and Russians are going to love that track, the WTC should be brilliant. Edited June 14, 2016 by A ORLOV

Gavan
Steve Worrall equalled the track record in heat one after the track had had rain all week so it couldnt have been that bad. Its only Pooles village idiot who has moaned about the track which is a bit rich when Pooles track couldnt have handled anywhere near that much rain Edited June 14, 2016 by Gavan
arnieg
A fantastic result for Danny King, and a few words of praise for Paul Starke who came so close to a place in the semi finals. In September 2012 after six years in the NL/CL he had dropped back down to reserve for the Isle Of Wight and I think most observers (me included) thought his career was going nowhere. However determination and application have brought about a remarkable turn around in his performance. WELL DONE PAUL.

Gavan
Well done Danny King on a superb win, well deserved. Would the British world champion had beating King in the best of British meeting last night ? In all liklihood Tai would have won it. Better gater than King and wouldnt have made the error Cook did. Tai is great on big tracks and would love that track
