Coventry Bees V Leicester Lions 25/03/2016

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Chris Harris on his paid maximum. I couldn't fault our top three who hardly dropped a point between them. Very promising signs from Kacper who is already showing potential. Shame he broke down when leading.

Garrity was dreadful tonight. He over rode and had no power. Few more meetings like that and he will be back at reserve anyway.

I think Leicester have one of the top reserve pairings in the league (can anybody explain how they have the 1st & 3rd graded riders from the tier lists?) our reserves should be okay against some pairing but are our weakness against stronger ones like Leicester, Poole & Wolves. Sarjeant puzzles me as seems to struggle for the meeting and has a great win in heat 12 against Poole & Leicester.

I think Leicester have a very poor top 5 so they will have to really hope their reserves don't pick up any injuries as they kept them in it tonight.

Their reserves scored 19 of their points.

I think Leicester will be a lot stronger at home

Another big crowd tonight

Cov top 3 excellent all night. All paid max from programmed rides. Dk only dropped the 1 point to a lion in heat 15. Kk rode very hard (but fair) to boss his position on track. Harris is a class above. Best top 2 in the league? Garrity disappointing. Woryna looked good, plenty of potential. Wasn't massively impressed with two laps of wheelies to celebrate a third place? Hate to see what happens if he wins a heat!

Paddy looked reasonable but not in the same league. Klindt hit and miss, could have been better. Walasek bit disappointing as usual goes well there- pulled up a few times- hope it's bike trouble and not defeatist attitude. Wozniak disappointing- still a lot to learn, expect more from him tomorrow. Impressed with ulamek, deserved more from his rides. Auty and starke absolutely sublime, long may that continue.

Lions the closest to an away point from all meetings today. Good to see all riders stay safe.

Yep. When it comes to the last 3 big heats I fear the Lions might always be found to be wanting. But at the very least we were competitive most of the meeting with our excellent reserve pairing.

Coventry well worth the win. And their stadium announcers are way better than ours too methinks.

What socialist media is that then?

And as for their recent (completely legal) withdrawal of labour, please enlighten us as to how many lives were lost.

more operations have been cancelled due to cuts and underfunding then any strike ....

some gullible folks just believe what they read in ballshot papers like daily mail and the sun......

the torys agenda is to privatise the nhs , so there rich mates can buy shares and profit from it big time.......

nhs is only safe with labour

It was 2 laps of wheelies to celebrate we had just beat our local rivals in what has been a pretty close meeting. I'm willing to let him off celebrating that :)

I'll accept it then- just ;) seemed slightly overkill. Lad looks impressive on one wheel though, I'll give him that

Last week at Bomber meeting he did a wheelie after every meeting and k commented it was over kill. And mention it pre meeting to friends so I would generally agree with you, I don't like celebrating unless you've won a heat and your team is winning. But we had just won a meeting that a few heats earlier id have bitten your hand off for any kind of win!

Poor advert for speedway.

Blimey you're hard to please if you think that was a poor meeting.

Leicester only have strength at reserve and even when Auty moves up, possibly as a heat leader, they will have Nicolai Klindt move down which with Starke will be a strong pairing still.

They lack any fire power and Coventry should have been more comfortable than they were in gaining all three points here and at Leicester.

Bomber and Kasprzak were expected to score big here and having King back them up made sure of the win but the rest are hit and miss.

Coventry will have tougher matches than this during the season and they will need the others to step up for the times King may not.

Decent result in the end, looked a bit dodgy for a while! Top 3 were excellent while Woryna would've got 7 if it wasn't for a puncture while leading in his opening ride. Sarj produced in his last ride again but Bates wasn't as impressive as last week. Garrity is a slight concern, I get the impression he needs to make some gates and form will come back but he's leaving himself a lot to do. Overall decent win considering how well Leicesters reserves performed

I'd rather see a meeting between two poor teams than a lop sided one and thought there was some good racing with the end result always in doubt. Like I said before I think you must be hard to please. Perhaps it's paying £3 extra that's made you grumpy because I'm sure you're not always that way.

Just thought it was premier league level teams, Bomber and KK apart. Oh and I'm not quite ready for the concessions turnstile yet. 👌

Well, unfortunately that looks to be the way Speedway is heading and personally it doesn't bother me about seeing the so called top riders anyway as long as the racing is okay. I watch Speedway at all levels and my favourite is probably premier league racing at Peterborough. I'd be more than happy if there was just one big league in future at P.L. level but whether Coventry will ever be part of it remains to be seen.

Which is the whole point of how its knackered up our team building, we could have had a strong reserve all season had Garrity signed up as an FTR rider.
