Berwick Vs Redcar Sat 26th March

Recommended Posts

A weather update about 4:30 / 5pm would be most welcomed , save another wasted journey for those of us who have to travel a distance , thanks in advance

The odd drop of rain but as yet nothing to worry about, anyway the track has been covered so I am confident there will be racing tonight.

Well done to all at Berwick Speedway.

Photo taken from the clubs Facebook page, why doesn't every club look after its customers as Berwick do.

top marks to the border club. maybe they should leave the covers on during the racing to give an even/grippy surface during the meeting . as long as it does not lash it down when the covers are off. game on ..the simple ideas are the best or we could all run the sport in the summer time ... now get some heaters on the bends for the fans ...

You always cease to amaze me Screm :)

Speedway Star have offered him a full time position after his excellent review of Berwick in the magazine! Has had to turn it down as though as he has a lot on his hands keeping forum fans up to date with Berwick news. Edited by Fromafar

You have so much faith :P:P

It may be blind faith at times but yes I have faith. Looking forward to seeing bikes on track, full stands and good racing. Berwick have points to make up if they are to win the Tees/Tweed Trophy, I am confident they can do that.

What a brilliant effort and decision to put covers on the track.
Without them, no doubt the meeting would have been off.

As it was, the track was perfect, and a very entertaining meeting, big crowd, big win, big trophy.

Perfect start!

Berwick once again show the rest how to do it. Covers were a superb success, public thanks to Olympus Marquees for providing the materials, Ian Rae, Scott Courtney and the gallant track staff for their hard work, laying and lifting them.

Track covers, it's the future, who would have thought? The promotion were rewarded for their hard work and planning tonight with the meeting going ahead on a perfect track surface, despite rain falling from about 5 o'clock.

A lot of things to be impressed by tonight, the covers, up to date music on the tannoy, hospitality box full, promotional giveaways for the kids, a lot of new advertisers in the programme, riders mixing with the fans afterwards (I know they have always done this), the win was the icing on the cake, a lot of enthusiasm around the place just now, the promotion deserve a lot of credit.

Must say for the 1st meeting of the season.. that's been the best start for a while... good Buzz in the crowd... genuine attempt to give the fans a meeting and good value for money... chance to attract the kids with the freebie fingers.

Team wise... good start with room for improvement. Be more of a test next week against Newcastle but I've a feeling we're in for an entertaining season :approve:

Decent meeting to start the season with, with lots of positives on and off the track, the biggest being a very healthy crowd which on not the nicest night weather wise is credit to the promotion with their posters and other offers in the last few weeks. Berwick comfortably saw off Redcar to claim the Tweed/Teed Trophy, obviously there will be tougher challengers to come but Berwick ticked all the boxes last night.
