allthegearbutnaeidea
Whats not clear? The rules say TRs are not allowed in the League Cup or two legged meetings. So why was it used then, which the ref was aware of?
Triple.H.
I'd hazard a guess that the way the rule was quoted earlier in this topic. IE after the mention of semifinals and final that it reads as no TR from semifinals onwards. How the hell the sport can have so many poorly written rules is beyond belief.
bigcatdiary
The 2015 regulations mentioned the no TR I n the semi finals and final section and everybody understood that it only applied to 2 leg aggregate matches. The current regulations have changed that and it's quite clear that the rules now say no TR in ANY PLC fixture. The fact that someone else on the MC clearly decided otherwise changes nothing, the rules say no TR, so perhaps the SCB will now do the right thing and amend the result of Scunthorpe v Sheffield match. To be honest I am not expecting anything to be done as the SCB are about as efficient as a chocolate teapot but we live in hope of a concise, well written and fair rulebook and a governing body able to properly enforce it.
crescent girl
The rule is pretty clear. Crystal-clear compared to some amendments in the past! No T/R in League Cup. End of..... The normally-efficient referee Peter Clarke who allowed it, and Sheffield management who accepted it being used against them must have had red faces when they realised what had slipped through. BSPA/SCB should make a quiet amendment to result. No big deal. Although Auty's extra points haven't affected match result, if -- a big if, I agree -- the LC section came down to race points, and these three extra points made a difference.........
