smiles
Nicholls,Loram,Richardson for Eastbourne and Poole Rounds Norris and Barker at Eastbourne With either of Havelock(ex Home Track) and Louis(if back on form) Or young guns Howe,Stead of Harris for the Poole round. Anybody any other suggestions. The 1st 3 are set in Stone(what a rubbish saying) Eastbourne track experts but not the best at Poole for Norris and Barker Edited March 25, 2004 by smiles

shazzybird
I must admit I wondered about Kelvin Tatum and suggesting him as well
Dave J
Tatum??????? You're in the wrong decade. The team would have to be: Mark Loram, Scott Nicholls, Lee Richardson, Chris Harris, Simon Stead.
shazzybird
DaveJ what exactly is wrong with putting Tatum in? He's got guts and determination as much as the next bloke and like everyone else he likes to win. I'm sure if he was given the opportunity and wasn't commited to Long Track at the time he would jump at the chance to wear a TEAMGB race jacket with pride! Dave J
Shazzybird. I remember Tatum when he rode for Bees. There was no-one to beat him from the tapes. He was probably the fastest gater i've ever seen. But that was then. I agree with you about the guts and determination, he has plenty of it but can he still cut it in such a prestigous event? I'll see how he goes over the next few weeks before i answer that. I hope he can recapture the skill and speed he had in the eighties as he was a great rider to watch. Guest JY2003
Mark Loram - Ex Eastbourne and Poole rider, can ride any track good Dean Barker - " " " and when he puts his mind to it he can ride Poole really well David Norris - Maybe not @ Poole but deffinatly ride Eastbourne Scott Nicholls - Ex Poole rider, like the Eastbourne track Gary Havelock - Ex Poole rider and erm.......dunno the other reason Shazzy - If Tatum can ride Poole when Arena Essex are their then ill change Havvy for Tatum Edited March 25, 2004 by JY2003
shazzybird
I know that Long/grasstrack is different from speedway for a number of reasons but I was lucky enough to watch him race last season, if I could ride a bike half as good as him I reckon Middlo would put me in the Team heyyyy maybe thats not a bad idea!!!!!! Shaz!!!! Sorry but you haven't got the Butt for it ! Also, if we are going on butts, especially in the Team GB Kevlars then Floppy is a MUST and so is Leigh Lanham!!! I still think it is too early to decide on the Team, we have to see how they all fair over the next month or so, Joe may be back in the chase, Chris is certainly proving that he may deserve a chance at it. As for the youngsters, time will tell with them!
KevH
I must admit I wondered about Kelvin Tatum and suggesting him as well Bloody good idea - then we can have somone else interupting everyone on Sky - Sir Tantrum certainly gets my vote.
