2ndbendbeerhut
So Scunthorpe have the track but "poor" facilities for fans Belle Vue don't have the track but great facilities for fans What's best?
Baldyman
Facilities are not poor at the EWR, but for me if the seating was higher so looking down on track it would be even more awsome.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Not a classic EWR meeting, but still a very good one with some fantastic racing from both sides. Ipswich certainly deserved a draw, think Scunny perhaps got the rub of the green today. Covatti was superb for Ipswich, a joy to watch riders attack the dirt.. and nice to see Lewis Kerr back on track and looking good. For Scunny, Auty looked great in his first ride, then appeared to get hampered by team mates in his subsequent rides. Not a bad showing from the rest of the Scorps, all had their moments... Hopefully Davies and Wilko are ok after their mishaps. Scunny with the rub of green as you say - just the same as Thursday as well.Sarj at Foxhall and Paco today with last bend ef in scoring position and Wilko falls on the wrong end of 5-1 with Scunny gaining in re run in both matches. If only as they say..... Hope Wilko and Davies are OK btw.

Paco very unlucky today. Very early doors and we'll be fine when a couple of the lads get their bikes going. Risager a big miss today also so hopefully he's not out for too long. King, Covatti, Kerr and Risager is a strong top 4 so if the other lads can chip in with vital points we'll be in business.
brylcream boy
A win and a draw against one of the supposed top teams by one of the favourites for the wooden spoon, got to be happy with our unbeaten start to the campaign. Enjoyed the afternoon, some good close racing and good to Lewis Kerr on fine form after his accident. I think both teams may have riders still a bit rusty and struggling with set ups. On Thursday Scunny benefited, today Ippo did and with a bit more luck would have won.
eric i
Enjoyable first meeting, I noticed the race times were quite slow nothing below 59sec I don't think there was a lot of grip in the track compared to usual.
Bash
It's a great race track at scunthorpe isn't it bash. Just imagine how good it would look if there were higher grand stands there. Brilliant track though. Yes the race track is excellent, agree with the terracing it's all too low we had to stand on some big concrete blocks on the first bend to see past the fans in front of us to see the whole track.

Baldyman
Give a racer a good track to race on and he will do things like that.

Fair point Bash, but Rob is improving the facilities slowly and within the clubs means. The start/finish seating is quite recent and where you were standing was added 2 or 3 years ago. I am sure Rob would love to have an all singing, all dancing stadium, but not at the expense of going bust. At least you were near the cafe!

Baldyman
I love that cafe. You can even get a pot noodle in there, or could on my last visit anyway. Where are all the scorpions supporters on here tonight? There was quite a few on Thursday. Edited March 20, 2016 by baldyman
June
A few posts show a lot of if's...a few more from Scunny angle....Josh Auty's first race was absolutely brilliant and that is normal for Josh around the EWR ( Its why we call him Mr Entertainer ) so exciting to watch! what if he hadn't had problems afterwards, as he obviously did. What if Alex hadn';t been accidently hit from the back resulting in damage to his bike. He could have been in ht 15.! A| couple of races ending 2 riders going over the finish line together,r what if the refs decision had been different. I'm not complaining..... that's speedway! It made an exciting meeting.

June, you were fortunate to get the draw today simple as that. Sometimes you're lucky to pick up points, and sometimes you're unlucky not to pick up points. It's speedway it happens. But today fortune was on your side.
Tonga
Got to agree the meeting was a good one and will be back for more of the same in a few weeks.
lucifer sam
Outstanding afternoon of speedway. At Ipswich on Thursday, there was 1 pass after the opening half lap. Today there was 31. The luck evened itself out - I think a draw was a fair result. Over the two meetings, Scunny scored 5 points and Ippo 2. Not bad for a team tipped (incorrectly) by many for the bottom. Best wishes to Wilko. All the best Rob Edited March 21, 2016 by lucifer sam
Bash
Josh didn't have problems he just got beaten fair and square. Maybe it was the pressure of being joint record points scorer because he didn't score a point after that.
Islander15
A great meeting with action up to the line on several occasions! Heat 15 was a brilliant race and the best I've seen this year Wilko has a small break in his collarbone but is attempting to ride for KL on Thursday apparently. A tough breed these speedway riders haha!
Paul Johnson
Josh had bike problems which showed in his last ride, the bike sounded sick as he pulled off the track, nicloai was in his way in one race and ended up racing each other.Paco desrved more than 2 points though and fair play to ippo, covatti was head and shoulders over anyone else and backed up well by king.hope wilko is ok as we need him ,i reckon once we get to night racing again we will be ok
