LisaColette
And the chequebook to price others out I would imagine. Other clubs pay more than Poole, or so I'm led to believe.

Woz01
That's the sort of thing Starman says! A good chance for Coventry to win some silverware and they treat it as a challenge meeting. Unbelievable. No ambition whatsoever. Really couldn't care about the Elite Shield. There is only one trophy we all want to win.

LisaColette
I'm led to believe the opposite I'm sure there are lots of examples, but one I can remember is when we signed Adams for 2003 BV offered him more money. Really couldn't care about the Elite Shield. There is only one trophy we all want to win.Why not win both?
mdmc82
I'm sure there are lots of examples, but one I can remember is when we signed Adams for 2003 BV offered him more money. Why not win both? Because the shield is really just a open season meeting. Most people aren't really all that bothered about it.
Trees
Is that because you are easily led.Doubting that!! ...... thought it was all about the great sponsors Poole have which gives a big boost to riders' contract packages?
LisaColette
Doubting that!! ...... thought it was all about the great sponsors Poole have which gives a big boost to riders' contract packages?More likely they know they will get paid on time. Because the shield is really just a open season meeting. TheSmiler
with R/R, this is looking like an easy Poole win (which it would have been anyway) 57-
Steve Shovlar
Now looking at the lineups we should squash the Bees tomorrow night. Cant wait to put it to 'em! Seriously I hope for some good racing, plenty of battles and no injuries. Roll on 24 hours.

chris4gillian
Maybe so but surely you can see how Danny King on 6.48 being a heat leader but Buzz on the same 6.48 average being a second string is not fair, whoever gains from it. Even more so when you consider about half of Dannys meetings were ridden as second string so giving him an inflated average! That's completely irrelevant, if Coventry wanted Buzz (instead of say Danny K) then they should have gone for him. They didn't so it's pointless groaning about it. As I have made acutely clear on here a number of times, I'm not always a huge fan of some of the things our promotion get up to however Matt F has played a blinder with our team building for 2016. Bagpuss
Is that because you are easily led. I'm sure there are lots of examples, but one I can remember is when we signed Adams for 2003 BV offered him more money. An example from thirteen years ago hardly helps your case! As Trees says I expect sponsorship plays a big part in what Poole pay, and I don't have a problem with clubs having bigger budgets than others, its just very irritating when people ignore that fact when trumpeting about why particular riders join their club. Very naive to think that money isn't a major part of it.

Crazy robin
Nooooooooooooooooo, Jumping the tapes... Don't forget Poole have Hans& Kyle in their line up & they roll with the best of them at the tapes.
Gemini
What folk need to remember is ANY club could have signed Buzz or Hans...Poole just had the vision to do it when other clubs didn't. As Skids would say, simples. Not really ANY club as we don't want Hans back thanks. Wouldn't say no to Buzz though ~ always like watching him at Peterborough. A good chance for Coventry to win some silverware and they treat it as a challenge meeting. Unbelievable. No ambition whatsoever. Don't be daft Lisa. It's not a management statement, just a fan, and it's not about having 'no ambition whatsoever' more like being realistic that Poole will easily win, but we're not really that bothered. That's another view from a fan ~ not management just in case you're confused.
