mdmc82
What are you going to say when he moves into the team proper ??I think he will then struggle like he sometimes does for Plymouth against stronger riders and will return to reserve. I think he is a good rider but can never see him doing well in a British Final or becoming a heat leader in the EL. I think he is what he is now, a good reserve rider Edited March 18, 2016 by mdmc82
BluPanther
Newman will be in the 1-5 soon enough. Garrity has messed Coventry up by starting in the 1-5. Very true Lisa, and when Newman does move up into the top five, its likely Poole will then have Watt at reserve. Matt Ford is way too smart to have missed that reality... Horton on the other hand
deanr1
Newman will be in the 1-5 soon enough. Garrity has messed Coventry up by starting in the 1-5. Newman will be in the top 5, but you will most likely have Brady Kurtz at reserve who is a fantastic rider and will score a bucketload from that position and soon move back up. Poole know how to build a team, you need to have 2 riders who can interchange at reserve /No.2 so you can always have a strong number 6, and the same again at 3&4 so you always have a high scoring number 4. Coventry just don't seem to get that despite having a good season last year on the back of having Garrity at 6 and either Joonas/King/Andersen at 4. Coventry's top 3 looks good, but it all goes wrong after that with riders in the wrong positions. Bates is a decent number 7, but Sarj isn't good enough to be a first reserve or ride in the top 5. Garrity & Woryna are good riders but neither of them are yet at that point where they can score a load of points from number 4 and interchange with King as 3rd heat leader. If Garrity was reserve instead of Sarj, then replace Garrity with a decent second string the whole team would have a lot more balance because we'd always have Garrity or Woryna at reserve. So yeah I would have to agree that Garrity starting in the top 5 has unbalanced the team and given it a very long tail.
foreverblue
9+1 from 6 rides and 8 from 5 rides last year so not all conquering at Wolves as people seem to think. Got home from work feeling upbeat about tonight, let me sleep on it and I'm sure that'll change! That's quite a few more than he got at Poole wednesday! Crazy robin
Everyone used to moan about foreign riders at reserve before the draft so how is it going to be right when it happens now?.
LisaColette
Everyone used to moan about foreign riders at reserve before the draft so how is it going to be right when it happens now?.Unless you have a team of Brits apart from the no1 rider, there is not a lot you can do! Crazy robin
Yeah but Aussies aren't really foreigners are they?? Swindon know that for sure this season!!!!! Shouldn't matter what nationality they are as makes a mockery of the original rule. I agree Swindon in it as well.
Woz01
That's quite a few more than he got at Poole wednesday! Different roles but i don't think he's ever done that well at Poole. We should see a much improved Garrity tonight

The draft was always going to be flawed ,it only benefited the Promotions who knew the rule before anybody else , a little bit like the Heat leader list & the instant squad system . Got home from work feeling upbeat about tonight, let me sleep on it and I'm sure that'll change! I'd still say that Jason considers our track one of his best, stats do tell part of the story tho! That's why it should never have changed from what it was. Really? So let other countries youngsters benefit from racing at reserve here and we get little benefit ?? This is the right way around. The cream of the British youngsters will rise to the top and others will struggle. It's no different to the same teams bringing in the best youngsters on a 4 and others being less successful with their signings. At least this way GB get to benefit those who progress. I couldn't be any happier about that move personally. With so few big names and new up and coming riders wanting to come here these days the days of foreign bargains are in the past. Rightly so too. stevebrum
So you could get Davey Watt at reserve instead?. How is that right?. It would have been exactly the same if a 4 point assessed rider moved up into the main body of the team as it always was back in the day.Are you saying that never happened? ? It's exactly the same as before. Better to have a rider move up as reward for progress than keep him at reserve and gain minimal progress. Better that rider is a brit as well.
