Ipswich Vs Scunthorpe March 17th 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

Scunthorpe Ipswich

1. Auty 1 King

2. Klindt 2 Sarjeant

3. Douglas 3 Kerr

4. Davies 4 Risager

5. Holub 5 Covatti

6. Wilkinson 6 Castagna

7. Bailey 7 Ritchings

Head to head only Klindt & Wilko look stronger than their opposite numbers. Whilst Covatti, King, Kerr & Risager should better their respective opponents. For me this match will swing on how the battles between the 3's & 4's do? But if I had to stake my 50p it would certainly be on the Witches.

Scorpions riding order has Davies at 3, Holub 4 & Douglas at 5.

Weather forecast is not too good!

The weather forecast 10 March to 20 March 2016

A high pressure system is spreading east to centre itself over the UK this weekend, and is set to hang around for at least the next 10 days or so. There will be no significant rain anywhere over the UK from Sun 12th March for around at least the next 10 days, it is a claggy high, so cloud could/will suppress the daytime temps, but where the sun does burn through, temps will quickly move into the low to mid teens. There will still be frosts where the cloud clears overnight.

So in summary, Dry, occasional sunshine, daytime temps between 10c and 15c, and importantly, no rain..

Do not see this as a shoe in for Ippo. Seem to recall Nicolai rides Foxhall well; Wilko has the measure at reserve, and Alex will always be in amongst it. Sure King and Covatti will be hard to hold; but Lewis Kerr is returning from serious injuries;

There's a bit of unknown about Zeddy; but he's probably going to surprise a few this season. At the moment I haven't mentioned Josh A and Ryan !; and I have a hunch that Josh Bailey might just prove to be one of the best of the Fast trackers.

We should not go into this match thinking we cannot get about the Witches and put up a decent show.

I've said this plenty of times but the way we built this years team we needed two 3 pointers at reserve. A NL 3 pointer was always going to be one, and I genuinely can't see a better 3 pointer anywhere else in the league than Paco.

I'm confident he'll make a mockery of his starting average. I can see him around or very close to the 5 point mark and I'm happy to be vaulted on that.

A dry week so all systems go for Thursday. I know sometimes early results can be a bit misleading, but IMO Scunny look one of the weaker sides in the league so if we can't see them off comfortably enough at home, alarm bells would be ringing already.

Need a good start and we need to make Foxhall a fortress again. Too many sides had a comfortable evening last year and it was that poor home form that cost us a play off place in the end.

Auty has never set the world alight at Foxhall but of course he may want to up his game to make a point!

Klindt likely to be 3 or 0 - certainly a dark horse for a big score.

Wilko could be certainly be a thorn in our side but if he has 7 rides it will be because others are not doing whats expected so swings and roundabouts.

Of course we should probably just worry about our own 1-7. If they perform as hoped/expected then there wont be any problem anyway!

I have my thermals and 5 layers prepared as Im sure it will feel like Siberia.

One of the biggest question marks for me tomorrow will be Lewis Kerr. It will be his first competitive meeting since that awful crash so it'll be interesting to see if he's tentative, or whether he's on the pace straight away.

He himself say's the crash hasn't bothered him but I suppose he would say that. The proof of the pudding will be tomorrow!

Remember last time out he was excellent and hit 14 I think it was?

Im sure all neutrals along with us Witches will be rooting for Lewis to come through with flying colours.

Hopefully we will be cheering his first heat win before 8pm tomorrow.
