Gemini
Nothing but it doesn't really matter does it as not a lot will be happening regarding a 'new stadium' for ages, if it ever does. I never mind when topics veer off course myself but each to their own.
RobMcCaffery
What has all this to do with Coventrys New Stadium? Conversations wander. Sincerest apologies for spoiling your thread. So, what do YOU have to contribute regarding Coventry's new stadium? I hope it happens but can't see it happening in time for 2017. What do you think the prospects are like and for the Elite League TV deal with Sky if Coventry drop out next year, even if temporarily? Please do enlighten us since we so clearly need your expert guidance and insight. Edited February 28, 2016 by rmc
GREDON
Unfortunately, apart from Mr Sandhu, Mr Heaver and to a lesser extent Mr Horton, none of us can say with any certainty what will happen. If the possible site is where I think it is, it will be ideal. Whether we all like it or not it has to be said that Brandon Stadium cannot go on much longer without a lot of money being invested, and whilst I cannot speak for the Stocks, the number of people coming through the turnstiles would not warrant any. Have a walk round next time you visit, the place is falling apart, it cannot be long before someone says this is not safe until you do this etc I know we will probably end up with something like Somerset, which can be built on over the years. I hope things are going on behind the scenes.
Woz01
Broadstreet RFC is where Wasps are going to build their state of the art training ground. The land along the A46 is where JLR are proposing to build their new factory. The possible site for Bees new stadium is the old tip site along Brandon Lane. Wasps will be using Broadstreet as a temporary base until they build there new training facility at the Higgs Centre and the Severn Trent station on London Road. wealdstone
Brandon Stadium will be greatly missed. Any new stadium will be at best a poor relation.

Gemini
I'm not sure what was said at the time but no doubt someone will remember better than me. I think it was along the lines of a house not being built in that spot which was on the start line. How they'll manage that I don't know but everyone knows what the future plans for the stadium are so they must have taken that into consideration when they wanted Nigel's ashes to be buried there. Woz01
Brandon Stadium will be greatly missed. Any new stadium will be at best a poor relation. That may be the case but Heaver has said he would want a stadium that can hold Stock Car crowds. I'm sure he said he expects 8,000+ for a meeting so it cant be just a track in a field. nothing comes near it in britain Obviously Belle Vue new stadium will surpass it easily, Brandon is now getting very old. If a new stadium can be half as good as what Belle Vue looks like it'll be id be very happy.

On a massive building site like Brandon, the ashes will be churned in with the rest of the top surface. Almost impossible to protect that area. Gemini
Well, that's what I was thinking too. My friends ashes were scattered on the track 11 years ago - some opposite the 4th bend where we used to stand and some at the starting gate so they'd be long gone now. As much as I love Speedway it's not something I would choose to happen with mine.

I think it can be a nice idea, but the difficulties of preserving the actual site of the ashes must have been realised before they were laid. We have had a few people's ashes scattered at Brough over the years, and once we had a hearse drive slowly around the track for a request of 'one lap of Brough'. Unfortunately with it being limo length they had to put chocks of wood in the hollows into the gap between the dog track and the speedway track, incase the hearse bottomed out and got stuck on the high point. Now that would be an original excuse for 'being late for your own funeral'. Edited March 1, 2016 by Tsunami

It didn't look like it. GREDON
Think if and when Coventry move, they will take the shale off the track with them, plus the starting gate, air fence and other fence, plus lamp standards etc. Perhaps the seats out of the grandstand, in fact anything moveable to save money
