Gemini
Well, would be good if they are, just hope that there isn't any irresponsible dog owners that forget to pick their furry frens pooh up and spoil it for others I've been to Peterborough loads of times and never seen any. There used to be quite a lot at Coventry in 2014 as I think the Greyhounds used to be walked around the top of the terraces, or left to their own devices, but they seem to have cleaned their act up last year. Used to annoy me because most people know I always have Lucy with me and I didn't want anyone to think it was her.
spin king
End of the day the Promoters are coming up with something that new and a little bit different, for change I think as fans we should give it a go, and of course it has to be priced right for your average punter to afford it. On a personal note I would be more inclined to go this kind of meetings than say the GP at Cardiff. Don't fully agree with Peterborough been seeded straight through to the final, but with 13 teams in the league I suppose someone has to be seeded only other alternative has to be one team missing out.
george.m
This could be a real Festival of Speedway if the product is right.
bigeddiechek
I think this is a great idea. Got to give the BSPA credit when due. These events can have a great draw for folk who haven't given speedway a go before. More importantly: what a feast of speedway for us existing fans!
scoobydoo
And SWC event 1 Could rule out King and Lambert then
Positive Thinker
Could rule out King and Lambert then No it wouldn't, Peterborough aren't the only host team to be parachuted into a final.
solrac
Thinking outside the box has to be applauded. If adapted and grown it could turn into a Festival of Speedway, fair play to the BSPA for trying something different. Hopefully will be well supported.
samsplint
Surly the fairest thing would be to seed the holders though to the final
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Surly the fairest thing would be to seed the holders though to the finalgiven how the team line ups (particularly successful sides) change so much year on year Id say seeding the hosts is a better option.
Daniel Smith
No it wouldn't, Peterborough aren't the only host team to be parachuted into a final. Think scoobs is right. Seem to remember that all SWC selected rider's aren't allowed to race in other events from the day the SWC starts so could rule King & Lambert out. bri1966
This is similar to what happened in 1985. They had 2 semi final and final individual meetings and the fours over a weekend To be honest I had enough of speedway by the end of the weekend. Takes too long to run just the fours
Ben91
Be plenty of amendments to the individual meeting line up too I bet.
Super Blue
Totally wrong that the host team is seeded into the final and before anyone says it happens in major football competitions I don't agree with that either! Places in finals of competitions should be earned in any sport not given away because it will attract a few more punters through the door! If they intend on giving final places to the hosts every year then they have to move to a new venue every year as well to be fair on all teams involved. Yet another example of let's help Peterborough out as much as we can!
jenga
so , correct me if i am wrong, (please).. peter borrow are seeded directly into a final that consists of 3/4 races or are they in it from the start and have to do all the qualifying races as well.. .seeing that all 13 teams are in it, are they not classed as seeded as well ? the borrowers machines will be a lot fresher , as will the riders . so in theory ,the borrowers are 4 ish races away from being champs or chumps . i dont agree with this set up at all . its my ball and when my mam shouts its tea time, the game ends . thought they had got it right, obviously NOT . but as another poster says on here , how many will miss this event due to S.W.C.?
Popular Post Paulco
Can we not just go there and enjoy it for what it is , a weekend of brilliant Premier League speedway . Somebody has to host it and where better than one of the best speedway tracks in the country . Who cares if Peterborough are seeded , after all the biggest majority of the crowd will be from the hosting club and they want to see their club in it . TheScotsman
If it's to ensure the local punters turn up then surely they should be in the qualifying on the Saturday? That would mean panther riders involved on both days one way or another. By seeding them, they will only ride on the Sunday. But I don't believe in seeding at all.
ruffdiamond
How about having 1 group of 5 teams, which includes Peterborough, have 5 riders in each race with the Panthers riders going off the 15metre handicap mark,,, this will nullify any home track advantage, sounds fair to me 2 from the 5 group qualify Edited January 23, 2016 by ruffdiamond
Panthers89
Even being seeded into the final, I will still attend the Saturday, as yes I'm a Panthers fan, but mostly I'm a speedway fan, and want to go and watch the leagues best around my track. I'm sure I wont be the only Panthers fan thinking like that.
