Rob B
Would you? From Gorzow to Wolfslake... Does seem a bizarre choice
Bavarian
Wolfslake is not even a village, it is a few farm houses 20km northwest of the Berlin City boundary - very rural, and speedway track there is on a flat field, not in a "Stadium" Here is what the German Wikipedia says about Wolfslake: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfslake
f-s-p
Does seem a bizarre choice Lets all just agree that me and Jesper dont know what we're on about and that they'll have a oneoff track somewhere in the city.

Rob B
If they wanted it in Germany there are far better tracks/stadiums
Bavarian
The F.I.M. could not even find a venue in one of the four competing teams' home countries, so why would any of the "better" tracks in Germany want to take this one on? I wonder what tempted the Wolfslake speedway club to do it ? Surely, it will be bigger and better next year when they stage it in the Arabian Emirates ! This Teamplayer company seems to have quite a bit of cash it seems.

Woz01
Wonder if Coventry were asked in the last two years? Finished 2nd last year but Belle Vue get the spot and Coventry were finalists in 2014 but Kings Lynn got the spot finishing 2nd. Why doesn't Poole want to do it? They were one of the ones that originally pushed this. Edited February 14, 2016 by woz01
SteveLyric2
Poole weren't invited by the new promotion after deciding against it last year due to cost!!! Pretty sure the financial implications will now be different with this new promotion having the contract for the next 10 years?!

uk_martin
Thats hardly fair on Poole ... That's the difference between the British Speedway establishment (BSPA / SloSpeed) and FIM Europe / OneSport. For once Poole aren't being engineered a title. Mama
FIM Europe and One Sport have no connections with WSL! Promoter of WSL - Team Player Management Co Ltd - is company based in UK... Edited February 14, 2016 by Mama

Mama
Of course! They want to run next Mickey Mouse event under "great" name... World? Just 4 countries... League? Just 1 meeting!
iris123
Looks better on the cv to have held a WSL in Berlin rather than going to prospective clients and saying they have held the WSL in Wolfslake or King's Lynn etc "King's Lynn!!!! That is only slighty better than holding the Stock Car World Final in Ipswich ffs!!" The Promotion are looking to put on a shuttle from Berlin Spandau to the stadium, but need to know how many are interested in this If you are please contact them at sportleiter@speedwayteamwolfslake.de Usefull as the stadium is out in the sticks Edited February 16, 2016 by iris123

So it's the World Speedway League in Berlin - except it's not the world it's European, it's not a league it's a one off four team tournament & it's not Berlin it's Wolfslake. At a push they might fill a mini bus. Edited February 16, 2016 by Noodles

This is the start of a new policy - tracks within 200kms of a urban centre are now to be marketed as 'big city venues'... malcolmuzzell
To be fair, Wolfslake is not the greatest track in Germany but it is a great racing track!
iris123
I guess it isn't the best stadium or in the best situation. Not really what you would expect for something like the WSL is it???? Though in fairness to Team Player Management,it is Wolfslake that have been using the 'Berlin' handle for years....Olching is about the same distance from Munich and has the advantage that it is linked at least by the S-Bahn,but I haven't seen them use Munich-Olching at all......
