topaz325
I know its the Christmas Holidays but still have not received my Star from last week, anyone else still waiting?
Gemini
From past experience delivery is sometimes a bit haphazard over the Christmas/New Year period due to Post Office delays. If you haven't received it in a day or two phone the Star and they will send you another copy. After receiving that the original will probably turn up as well.
scaramanga
the post has been quite good this year from past experience i would most likely say it was actually posted late due to no staff in the office or not posted at all too be honest i stopped buying it a few years back got to expensive for whats inside most of it is old news during the season and filled up of some poor fill in articles off season
Gemini
Strangely enough I used to enjoy the Winter editions more than the Summer ones.

Gemini
That's a shame Colin as it would have been a lot cheaper to get a subscription. She must love you very much.

SteveLyric2
Got both my issues over Christmas/New Year on subscription. Usually arrives on a Thursday but the postie doesn't tend to deliver until 3pm ish and often doesn't deliver to this road every day, so occasionally I have to wait til Friday! g13webb
Both mine were deliviered as normal, by the local Newsagent, always there before 7am in the morning. Today; Was a good read, especially the interview with Torben Olsen and the England and the USA series from 1980. It's refreshing to read how good the sport once was and how everything was based around the UK tracks. We ruled the world then...... I was fortunate to be at Wimbledon for that first meeting, and can remember it well. The racing there wasn't ever that special, but the venue, the atmosphere, the tension, all made it such a momentous occasion, that will be remembered for years to come. At the end of the day a draw was a fitting finale to a fantastic meeting..... Such a shame when big venues like Plough Lane, close down. Very difficult to replace those institutions ....... martinmauger
Ain't it always the way. Annoying if the Star is late but on the rare occasional copy hasn't turned up at all, I've phoned Dave Fairbrother and a replacement has arrived the very next day. Though I no longer have team to follow (sob) I very much look forward to my 'Thursday lunchtimes away from the inane chatter of workmates' and i must say the mag is stonking value at just over 2 quid if one 'subs' it. No, I don't work for publishers Pinegen. Good issue this week; if only the Engalnd v USA test at Wimbledon in 1980 had been filmed....

Agree the Star is good value and i too kept reading the magazine even when Workington closed for about 15 years.
