keepturningleft
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv_oSG1TYyU This is quite interesting even if you don't speak Danish and are not an Ole Olsen fan. Good footage from the '71 world final and a move on Ivan Mauger that Nicki Pedersen would be proud of!
FAST GATER
Full credit to Mauger shook hands after the race no moaning even managed half a smile on the podium ,not a huge Olsen fan but he was no NP almost as good as Ivan but not quite IMO .

I agree, Mauger was a better Rider - and has the World Titles to prove it.
Terry
I agree, Mauger was a better Rider - and has the World Titles to prove it. No argument from me that Mauger was the better rider. Although maybe he rode for too long, whereas Olsen retired while still at the top. I guess it proves the calibre of rider 30 years ago was stronger, with Hancock still at the top but Mauger slipping down. It's certainly not due to fitness. Ivan did win his last title 8yrs after this final so still think he was right to go on as long as he did , you can't really count the home season at Exeter in was it 84? just indulging himself IMO.
