Predict Top Two And Bottom

Recommended Posts

With doubts over race nights, stadiums, attracting riders etc this thread next year could have the same team in both answers!

With a number of teams still nowhere near completed it is hard to predict but I will give it a go with a bit of guess work.

POOLE - Solid top four of riders who could all be classed as heat leaders and in Brady Kurtz a rider that could be a heat leader in a few years and will benefit from being with the experienced Holder, Andersen, Buczkowski and Watt. Kyle Newman is one of the top reserves and if he moves up look at who moves down while Adam Ellis is possibly the top #7 so far.

SWINDON - Jason Doyle as the clear #1 rider in the league backed up by probably Nick Morris and Zengota or Batchelor will be a strong top three. It would mean weaker second strings but they are capable of getting thirds and the heat leaders winning races.

BELLE VUE - Good top three in Zagar, Cook and Nicholls and Fricke will have benefitted from a year behind him. The Worrall brothers will probably swap places a few times and Boxall a decent final piece but not sure if they have enough to match the two above.

COVENTRY - Don't write off KK and with Bomber forms a good top two. King a decent third heat leader and should have Garrity challenging for the role and if Woryna can get settled they could shock a few. Reserves not that strong but Bates is a great #7 and at reserve he should be capable of 5 points most meetings. Look better than the four teams below anyway

WOLVES; - They need Fredrik Lindgren to get back to the form he was in three or four years ago and be dominant at home once again. Also Mikkel Bech could be a key signing and could be a solid heat leader. Kylmakorpi and Thorssell will need to improve his away scores having both averaged under 5 points a match away in 2015. Masters is doubling up and it depends how many meetings he will miss and the same with Howarth due to Premier League meetings. Not sure if they can be play off contenders ?

KINGS LYNN - How do you replace a rider like Iversen and track a heat leader with an average under six points a match. They need a good signing which could be Troy Batchelor and hope Bjerre can get back to big scores and starting at #4 like Lindgren at Wolves could help him. Lambert is the rider everyone wishes they had and if they get Rory Schlein back and in form they have riders that can improve. Not too sure about the reserves though.

LAKESIDE - AJ is fine and Nilsson is under rated while Kennett does a decent job doubling up. What is it with Blackbird and Mears at reserve after both retiring ? ...... They still have over 12 points to sign two more riders and these could be key to how they will do. Could they get PK back as a second string on 5.51 and a seven point heat leader ? .... if they can they would he higher but away form has always been a problem.

LEICESTER - Can't see who they are going to sign to make them an Elite line up. Not many top riders want to or can ride Saturdays ? ....... so until they shock everyone with a few big signings they look like certain wooden spoon winners.......

No Batchelor or Zengota for Swindon & only thing consistent with the riders signed so far will be their inconsistency.

Of the four teams announced so far, then Poole, with their 4 heatleaders have to be odds on favourites. Belle Vue have a solid looking team with strength all the way though should figure prominently. Wolves although, without a top No1 have a solid team and should improve on last year. Coventry have 2 top end riders but also have a long tail. When the top two miss out on the points I don't think the tail will be strong enough to compensate.

Opinion so far : Poole ; Belle Vue; Wolves; then Coventry..... :t:

Now that Swindon have named their full squad, they will be formidably opponents. Should figure strongly for play-off .

Would suggest they are in the top three with Belle Vue and Poole ..

Poole have a top four others can only dream about and with Kurtz they have the best 5th rider who could be at reserve if Newman moves up.

Swindon have the big name in Doyle but not sure if they have enough to challenge Poole but the team morale will be unbeatable with five Australians.

Belle Vue should be up there chasing but of the rest it's hard to see another team apart from Coventry being in with a chance of the play offs.

Lakeside could be the dark horses if Coventry slip up while Wolves, Kings Lynn and Leicester appear to be non runners

How can you possibly know how teams: Leicester, Lakeside and Lynn ( The 3 'L's ) are going to figure until they have completed their squads.

Talk about assumptions.........

Poole and Belle Vue look the stand-out teams for me. Of the other three complete teams, there isn't much to divide them.

If Lindgren or Kasprazak ride to their potential, then Wolves and Coventry could be in the mix. Swindon look a bit meh to me. Doyle is the best rider in the league, but with an awful lot of pressure on Morris and Grajczonek to back him up.

Top 2... Poole of course will win the League and play-off ( Unless they choke it, as they have been known to do) with Belle Vue 2nd

Bottom 2 Kings Lynn and Leicester. With Leicester winning the Border Trophy to decide who ends up Bottom :D

That's on 20th June 2016 then. In your dreams.

It would, IMHO be foolish to write Wolves out of a decent top 4 finish (I am aware of the topic title, but there are 4 teams in the P/Off's), F Lyngren is on a very low false average and is easily capable of putting 2 points on it, if JK can have an injury free season then he is also capable of a small increase on his average as is MB and JT. And with SM and KH swapping places through the season they will always have strong reserves. So to conclude I recon we should see a top 4 of, Poole (top) Belle Vue Swindon and Wolves battling it out for the next 3 places.

Whilst I don't think they are the weakest team in the league, I don't see Wolves making the play offs.

Whilst JK is a very good rider, he is not a number one and does struggle away from home.

Agree that Lindgren is better than his average.

Another question would be how many meetings are Masters,Howarth & Clegg going to miss and also will Howarth & Bech improve on what wasn't a great year for them. A lot of doubt around this team. A huge point is will Adams get the best out of them.
