Aces51
A top rider who always gave 100% and never knew when he was beaten. The sport wouldn't be struggling if every team now had a couple of riders with Nigel's grit and determination. Â He was one of those rare riders who was popular with fans throughout the country.
Gemini
One of my favourites. Small point= Jim McMillan is Scottish. Ah...but....Scotland have never ridden as a team in internationals have they and it does say England Stars? (Fully expecting someone with a better memory than me to correct me and list the Scottish team.) Edited November 30, 2015 by Gemini

steve roberts
When the World Team Cup was re-organised after 'Great Britain' won the 1973 Final (a team represented by Englishman for the first time) it was decided to run a Qualifying Round at Ipswich in 1974 consisting of teams representing England, Australia, New Zealand and Scotland. I think that Scotland were replaced by the USA in 1978 (?) Â Back to 'Booey', however, a great entertainer who never knew when he was beaten. He was also easily recognised in his blue leathers... well before the days of the introduction of kevlars and team suits.

iris123
Jim also rode with Booey in New Zealand for England,so could correctly be described in this case as an England star,as for instance could Ken McKinlay  1968-69,1969-70,1970-71 tours for instance http://www.internationalspeedway.co.uk/nzveng.htm Edited November 30, 2015 by iris123

Nigel said that was good then that was it Eric said but he expected no more, what a rider he was he rode in any conditions and give everything would of loved to see him in his match races for the helmet against Ove. Â https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JY_xq1xJPA0 Love the video a top man.

Eric very nearly signed for Oxford prior to the 1975 season but decided to take up a managerial post at Belle Vue and retired from active racing. He did try a comeback in 1983 (?) but soon retired for good. Two great ambassadors and Eric, surely, is due an honour for services rendered over many years?
