SCB
Let everyone buy tickets for the meeting and THEN tell everyone you can't park outside and have to pay £5 to park. What a bloody joke Belle Vue Speedway is.

Aces51
Let everyone buy tickets for the meeting and THEN tell everyone you can't park outside and have to pay £5 to park. What a bloody joke Belle Vue Speedway is.So you were expecting a sell out crowd of 10,000 to be able to park free in the streets outside the stadium? As Phil has said it is the Council that have arranged this and it is BSI event but the joke would have been if nothing had been done to solve the traffic and parking problems.  £5 to park and a park and ride system strikes me as a professionally organised event for a stadium built within a couple of miles of a large City centre. If you really do want to park free I am sure a quick look on Google maps will reveal plenty of streets unlikely to have restricted access within reasonable walking distance but Gorton is not exactly a salubrious area. Â I'd have thought it a reasonable assumption, given that Cardiff attracts three times that number and you know well in advance of any parking restrictions/costs. It was always going to be a ball ache to park as where the stadium is, is a massive residential area and they are getting parking permit holders area so having a park and ride system of £5 is cheaper than a £40 fine by Manchester city council. The traffic wardens will be all over the stadium like a fat kid is a sweet shop
Star Lady
I understand that but it is a bit late in the day to announce it. I guess it's possible that quite a few people will not see or hear about the arrangements, causing chaos or unexpected parking fines. I can see where BV are not in charge of traffic but someone really should have had a word with the council far earlier. Not that councils always listen of course

To charge £10 to park the car when tickets are only £25 is a bit of a piss take!  Whoever is at fault, leaving it until less than 2 weeks before the event to start charging people for extra is really taking the piss. Woz01
Surely it's not a surprise that official parking will cost and there would be restrictions over Street parking given the crowd levels? £5 sounds very reasonable to park your car at a major event.
New Science
Just for Vojens. He should be ok for Manchester Really hope the Russians don't miss out on Manchester. One of the main reasons Ive booked race off and final is to see Emil and the Lagutta's mixing it with the World's best No disrespect to the Czech's but not having the Russians in the race off will lesson the event Edited July 19, 2016 by New Science

The way you are going on you would think it was the day before the meeting and people are already travelling, it's 10 days away yet plenty of notice!  Can you park outside Cardiff for £5, no, park & ride ride there is £8 and local car parks are £12-15.  Manchester City Council are organising this and treating it as a major event in the city, you can't park at Etihad stadium for other events for £5.
