2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016

Sorry mikebv I not only like to watch a good meeting which I'll give you yes it was I like to hear the heat times and when a tactical is being used and a joker etc that's all part of it for me. The presentation of the meeting was diabolical.

I wasn't there so accept your comments about the PA system but would think anyone watching with a speedway background would be able to recognise the difference between Lindback and Freddie

What a great meeting. Team GB certainly surprised everyone and how nice it was. Belle Vue fans are a very lucky lot, good on you. The Aussies got what they diserved, what an arrogant lot they are.

Belle Vue Fans, we are in St.Helens this week and hope to take in the Wednesday league match, can I turn up and Park and get seats in the grandstand. Thanks.

You can turn up & park on the night. Parking on the stadium car park behind turn 2 is £3, as I believe it is on the school too.

You can also buy tickets from the ticket office on the night. Queues are much smaller than they were earlier in the season so you should be fine.

Lakeside's previous visit to the Aces this season produced some excellent racing, hopefully more of the same on Weds night. :approve: Decent weather forecast too.

Yep. There will need no road closures. So can park for free on the roads around the stadium or can park at the school for £3

And yes you can just turn up and buy a ticket at the ticket office. If u want to go back straight then there is a ticket office at the turnstiles there

That was one fantastic meeting Saturday night, congratulations to all the riders, every one of them were going for it.Great view from the temp seats crown of bends 3/4, we were near the front so could actually hear the pa!!

Added entertainment watching security chasing Polish fans who were trying to empty the 18 pints of beer that they had all consumed with inevitable results along the back fence, as some bright spark believed that 10 portable loo's each end of the stand would be enough!!!

Brilliant meeting last night and a great atmosphere in the stadium. Had a good laugh pre, post and during the meeting with the Poles.

Friday night we were in bend 1 but got a free upgrade to the seated 3rd/4th bend for last night and both were great views.

Had a great laugh with the lady next to me from Ipswich too, both jeering the Aussies and cheering the Brits :D

Glad I didn't buy a programme having seen the state of them! And what he hell was that shower of 5hite for display at the end? Why no fireworks?

Comedy moment was the plastic Aussie in front of us who after the last race pulled out a GB hat 😂😂 silly moo

FIREWORKS banned on noise grounds by local authorities but the light show was poor

Just back after a good weekend in Manchester. A few observations. Impressed with the stadium, sat in the main grandstand, great viewing and the stand holds the noise in,reminiscent of sitting in the stand at Bradford many moons ago.Not quite in agreement with the conditions of entry that you can't take in an soft drink, flask of tea but you can take in a bell,I'm ok but burgers and pies aren't everyone's staple diet. The programme, only bought one because I couldn't get a race card, anorexic for a tenner, Racing at the race off was poor, couldn't see the reason why as early morning rain is usually ideal for the track surface.Team USA whats the point ? Personally if I was in charge of the DMU I would replace Hans Nielsen. As good a rider as Nielsen was he was decisive,he admitted in the Star in his time he didn't get on previously with Ole and Erik ie half of his national side. By dropping Nicki he tried to make the World Cup all about himself.Did anybody believe this time last night that Denmark would not make the final with a round on home shale with another chance in the race off. When you leave out 2 GP riders and it doesn't work you have serious questions to answer. On to the final, one of the best meetings Ive ever seen in GB. Track was absolutely superb ,racing brilliant, great atmosphere and a terrific rearguard effort from Team GB.Well done to Rosco and Tai for the way they lead the team, not sure whats with the suit on track walk with every member in every other team in official teamwear,it is a team event after all.Thought the Aussies made a big mistake not playing the joker in the second block of races, cost them big style. On the whole well done to everyone at Belle Vue,and to BSI,just seed the hosts to the semis in future so we can have an even better World Cup.

Proud of team GB, especially our Cookie.Felt GB public cheated by Hancock, why wasn't it announced in Sweden he wouldn't be riding in Manchester. Hans? Not impressed. Pedersen should have been in Danish team on Friday. Aussie hopes were dashed when Max got injured. Once again like it or loathe it joker played a big part. Great when it works for us. Shouldn't be such a thing when it doesn't.

If only there were more meetings like this, what a fantastic advert for the sport, clearly a teriffic facility which created cracking racing on a brilliant track. Great performance to get second, Poland were always going to win in the end. As at Cardiff Danny left it a bit late to show his form, Lambert said he wasn't on form but personally don't think he is up to this standard yet. Bit disappointed in Sweden Lindback was particularly poor and Mark Lemon once again proved he is tactically inept. Personally my first visit to the new stadium and i will be back, extremely enjoyable experience.Just one thing arn't doctors mean't to set an example to be healthy!!

Tai said his bike was not set up as he would have expected but it worked. Did his pit crew advise the rest of the team because the form of King and Cook seemed to change?

I seem to recall that during a chat with Tai after a win he mentioned he was giving the other riders information about the set up he was using, so possibly yes.

CANNOT agree about same riders both days. No Poles or Swedes on Friday. Much bigger crowd on Saturday. Track preparation on Friday was determined by the weather with the rain showers infringing much later into the afternoon than anticipated.

On Saturday fresh dirt was brought in and the track was prepared as they wished. That, along with the higher quality of riders than Friday, produced such superb racing without the long gaps between riders. It also went to show it isn't about speed. Every race on Friday bettered the previous track record set before the Race-Off. On Saturday times were well over a second slower.

You were missing the most important point of the post I wrote. The Run-off was regarding as boring racing. 'Gate and Go', whereas the Saturday's Final was classed as brilliant. The main differences was pointing out how important a good track is, The size of the crowd and specific riders are irrelevant to the quality of the track. When you are talking about a world Final, you expect all the riders to be of a certain standard, but if the track is suspect then the product is substandard.... No doubt the Poles and the Swedes would have found it, just the same as the four teams that rode on Friday....
