PHILIPRISING
Maybe a change at the top of the BSPA will see a change that sees Nicholls return, or at least wanting to return, to ride for Team GB, and at his home track to. BE good to have Scotty in the squad. Lots of experience that could be invaluable.
screm
BE good to have Scotty in the squad. Lots of experience that could be invaluable. I agree, it was debated earlier about how much practice the Team GB boys would get on the new track in Manchester, Nicholls and Craig Cook for that matter could be trump cards come the SWC Final giving the amount of laps they will do with Belle Vue. Mark
BE good to have Scotty in the squad. Lots of experience that could be invaluable. I agree. Hope the new leadership at BPSA sorts out the sponsorship and pay for our best riders. More likely to be no TV commitments with Eurosport You are probably right but if he gets a BT Sport slot it could be a unique angle to have one of the riders on the TV team. Alan_Jones
Agree. Funny how people make 5 from 2+2! The issue was much more complicated than that and centred around support for British riders from their federation e.g. development opportunities for youngsters with test matches or training (for example like the danes do when hiring Lynn before the season starts) and the like, Euro Champs but principally for those starting out as they need more help. It's all a litte bit more complicated than "shown no interest". If he's still of the same opinion he could follow Bomber's example and take a couple of youngsters under his wing. SPEEDY69
If he's still of the same opinion he could follow Bomber's example and take a couple of youngsters under his wing. He could but that's very low level and haphazard. Who's to say they're the best teachers, or have the best ideas, or access to tracks and overseas organisations etc. That is the point. How many ex/ageing riders have said the same - loads. It would be good in the BSPA could get someone like Nielsen on the books to formulate a structured plan or similar as he was one rider who had everything needed to be successful at the highest level. A lot of the low-level initiatives simply fade away. I seem to remember Jan O starting something, Phil Morris, Les Collins, Loram/Havvy/Screen and countless others. Next year with a new National Stadium it would be a shame if it's not put to best use. Edited November 23, 2015 by SPEEDY69

OveFundinFan
http://www.speedwaygp.com/ on this artist impression you notice on turn 1-2 there is not much room outside of track for stands etc. This is because BV wanted a good race track and therefore sacrificed stands for a good size track. Bradford Ace
TBF they're pricing it to encourage people to attend both. If you do that it works out pretty good value. It does but also very poor planning that ya can't just buy a ticket for the Friday meeting on its own which IMO is ridiculous. My plan was to stand on the Friday with my Belle Vue mates but my Mum and Dad want to come Saturday so I was going to sit in the stand with them for the final. Seems ludicrous that I can't do that now without paying for a weekend combo to stand up on the Friday & a separate seating ticket on the Saturday - means i will be paying a lot more than i should be. Bearing in mind July is peak holiday season, the same applies for anyone who can attend friday but cant make saturday - they will have to pay for 2 meetings up front just to attend 1 of them!! Shocking Edited December 2, 2015 by Bradford Ace

OveFundinFan
Turns 3-4......... That's where temporary stands will be fitted for the major meetings, so I believe - first one I imagine will be the SWC in July 2016. You must know what they plan, Phil, you had a tour round with CM & PC Edited December 2, 2015 by Joe Hatton

No advance tickets for race-off but admission on the day won't be a problem. Turns 3-4......... You must know what they plan, Phil, you had a tour round with CM & PC Dodger Blue would appear to have answered the question. They can add at least 6,000 extra seats there. All the infrastructure has been put in place during the building process.

KIRKYLANE
I was hoping they would do a deal for both meetings and delighted to see they have. I paid £70 for the main grandstand working out at £ 35 per meeting The BSPA charge £ 25 for the ELRCF so it works out great value. Far more chance of people doing both meetings when it is Friday/Saturday and I am sure that Manchester hotels / restaurants will do good business. Also the prices for standing are really good value if you want them. There is a good chance that thet actual entertainment/racing will be better on the Friday than the Saturday. Steve Shovlar
So it's £25 to stand which is £12.50 a meeting? Absolute bargain! What is the capacity of this new stadium?

Place should be packed at that price, especially the fri which often is the better meeting.
