Wackie
When did these 'drainage' issues on the new site spring up? Sounds like the new stadium is now going to be portacabins with a bit of poncing up.

THE DEAN MACHINE
A building is just a building without a track , where is the track ? Or is that being built off site too , my guess is there is some sort of community sports hall that they are saying is the stadium that is going to be put there and they are just buying time till they can get the current track gone

hagonshocker
So pleasing that this topic is giving some a little chuckle, have heard good things regarding the drainage issues where Swindon Borough Planning Dept have been authorising the developers to make alterations which should be adhered to at some point so Conlon can resume there Groundworks there ...finally seems that Stadia UK do want this thing built
Odds On
was just wondering how the new stadium was coming along?

Steve Shovlar
Got problems with the drains is the latest one. That should hold things up until 2019 at least. Then they will discover a rare moss on the pile of rubble which has some form of protection.
Midland Red
This was posted on the Oxford thread today Swindon are already desperate for dogs, they lost big kennels when Towcester opened....if anybody thinks that a new stadium will be built in Swindon any time soon then they need a reality check! Odds On
lets all be 100% honest here, does anyone see a new stadium being built? Edited July 10, 2017 by Odds On

waytogo28
lets all be 100% honest here, does anyone see a new stadium being built? There never was a chance of a new stadium being built. Another venue lost to speedway. Five years on Poole V Belle Vue will be the only UK match in a very contracted elite league ( providing Poole have re-layed their track by that time ). They will race Home and Away on alternate weeks and fans elsewhere can watch speedway via Pay Per View.
Fromafar
lets all be 100% honest here, does anyone see a new stadium being built? If it doesn't happen, there will be parts to pick up from a scrapyard if we believe it is lying somewhere just to be bolted together. waytogo28
Can't see the new drains being ready until the end of 2018 ( at the rate the project has gone so far ) so maybe, just maybe a glimmer of a light re the middle of 2019 for the inaugural meeting. Time for two more Abbey Farewells.
Vince
Let's hope it's like Belle Vue which seemed just as unlikely to ever happen for a while

Daniel Smith
But Gaming International have already purchased the £20k worth of cut and shut portacabins. So Swindon has to be going ahead, oh, hang on............ A few grand losses against a few £100k housing profits, hmmmm
