They are for families who cannot afford, from their income, to pay the high price houses that some areas have. This would include low pay workers like nurses, care workers, transport workers etc. Those workers have been classed as “key” workers and no doubt they work in those sectors because they like the job, even though it’s not high pay. I think they may be upset if some class them as they have fallen on hard times. I think the not often used now term of council houses would have been similar in the past. I was brought up in a council house, and though we didn’t have bags of money we certainly was not on hard times. The phrase "due to unforeseen circumstances" is one that you do fear could raise its ugly head... As could "we did try"...... Hopefully GI will come through....

If it does get built I wouldn't be surprised if we end up a bit like Smallmead, with temporary buildings that never get replaced. The main thing is that we get the racing back. The fact that people are there has to be a good sign on that front.
ch958
to be fair, why would they move the structures in if they weren't going to use them. They could have just stonewalled. They're probably relying on noise complaints to shut the place down and build some more ticky tacky boxes, er I mean family homes

Especially as he says in the Adver article that nobody from the Speedway club has had any contact from Gaming International re time scales etc. Rosco's problem is that he needs 'guarantees' by the end of November in order to start signing riders. Those guarantees must also include hospitality options for sponsors, fans etc. Otherwise it'll delay racing til 2023.

Probably being paid by the hour to do the job. Get some Japanese builders on it. It'll be done next week.

orion
The timing of the building work is perfect from Gaming int ...Means that Swindon wont know if the work will done in time meaning they have to say they can't run in 2022 . Another year then go's by and people lose even more interest before they find another reason next year .
