MattK
Looks pretty but any signs of movement on this long running saga or has Clark Osborne done a runner? No signs of movement.
THE DEAN MACHINE
The plans seem to vary, but this is roughly where: The most up to date plans seem to show more of an overlap between the new track and the existing first bend. where the first and second bend is supposed to be is where the big mound of dirt is now on the end of car park , go round the housing estate at the back of that mound and you will see the houses are 150 yards from that mound , track is not going to happen

Argos
Yes just as I thought there is no way the new track is good to be built, very very sad, another track lost to our sport
greyhoundp
Well if these are the most up to date plans, they are obviously already out of date, so more stalling from Clark Osborne and Co.. is this application for another 100 houses ? http://pa1.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=OPDHO0PT0EE00 i was looking for a whole site plan, but couldnt find them.. No doubt some of this top soil can be used to give the new house owners a couple of inches of soil for their gardens, the rest can be used to build the banking for the stadium terracing, if it is ever built. The Council should be kicking stadia up the rear end. One advantage of the situation is that we still race on a nice long track rather than the proposed smaller one, where parking will be a bit of a joke. Midland Red
A stadium/track was never going to be constructed in the midst of a brand-new housing estate Another case of someone taking the wee-wee

The White Knight
The sad thing is, the likes of rosco believed it. So do I. I still live in hope. I know what it is like to lose my Track for Speedway. Edited August 11, 2017 by The White Knight

Midland Red
I know what it is like to lose my Track for Speedway. So do I, now Brandon's gone - and I was regular at Blackbird Road till that closed * I take no pleasure in seeing the Swindon situation, but I don't feel that people have been very realistic if they thought a stadium and track were ever going to be built there * And I miss my trips to West Ham and Wimbledon too!
THE DEAN MACHINE
I posted that the track would be smaller than the present one. you have seen the carpark and the mound , even outer fence to outer fence on corners would be tiny and that's without greyhound track or terraces
uk_martin
Ant progress made? How long do the Robins have use of the current stadium before bulldozers replace speedway bikes on the track?

The White Knight
No quicker than an ant! Sadly, by the sound of things, this new Stadium is looking more and more dodgy by the day. However we must have faith.
