EC Rides Again
Very interesting to see a big hitter like BT Sport showing interest in the sport. It can only be a good thing when British speedway negotiates a new TV deal. When does the current Sky deal end ?

EC Rides Again
THREE years to run  Thanks.  Interesting that both the GP and British deals will run out at the same time. What the media landscape will be in three years, who knows? Come to think of it, who knows what the British speedway landscape will be in 3 years?  Traditional TV deals may not be the best way for sports like speedway to get revenue/exposure in the future. Look how the NFL is looking into doing deals with the big streaming companies like Google and Yahoo.
SteveLyric2
BT Sport must be rubbing their hands with glee now that the only way to see yet another GP rider (NKI) will be on their channels.
BWitcher
TBF, Eurosports coverage of Swedish Speedway was crap. Sometimes not show at all, sometimes shown late, sometimes shown but not in full. Crap is fair. But thats Eurosport, always has been  No coverage is crap.  We had coverage, so that was good  I take your point though, Eurosport are amateurish.  GP's are better on there though! Poor coverage can drive the viewer away. We stopped watching the Eurosport Swedish League coverage part way thro' the season because of their tiresome coverage.
Bagpuss
I find the best way to watch any speedway on telly is recorded or delayed so that anything other than the actual racing can be 'whizzed'.
topsoil
I actually enjoyed the Swedish meetings. I got to see tracks I would otherwise never have seen, I got to see riders (Sayfutdinov, Woffinden, the Lagutas, Hancock, Lindback etc.) in league racing I would otherwise not see. The commentary was never an issue for me, I don't pay that close attention, but I never found it a problem. It'll be a miss to me in 2016 if it doesn't run. I know there was an issue with some weeks it was shown late, or not at all, but let's face it, speedway is a niche sport, Swedish speedway is a step further. We should be thankful for what we get.

Hodgy
I'm well miffed BT now have the GP's. Took out a new BT contract for broadband and landline, advised BT Sport is free (paid £3 month last contract). After a week of no sports channel called again, oh sorry sir you don't have BT TV therefore £5 per month, oh you want HD that will total £11 per month. BT Sport is free! Lying gits!!! As above. My only issue with coverage of Swedish matches, most of which I saw at mum mum's who has Sky & Eurosport, was when between heats it switched to the 'default view' of overlooking one of the bends which just showed fans milling about. Sky, Eurosport, & hopefully now BT, showed replays, comms opinions, interviews, etc between heats....
EC Rides Again
I find the best way to watch any speedway on telly is recorded or delayed so that anything other than the actual racing can be 'whizzed'. Â I do this all the time as well. Â The Eurosport coverage of the Swedish League was the ultimate bargain basement effort. Just pictures as supplied by C-MORE minus the Swedish talking heads. Felt a bit sorry for Ermolenko and his mate commentating having to make the best of it. Wouldn't have minded the delayed coverage quite as much if Eurosport had taken the trouble to record the early heats and edit together to show a whole meeting, but they often just showed the last half of a meeting "as live" ! Poor. Â I'm sure that BT Sport will bring a much higher quality production of the GPs to our screens if their coverage of Moto GP is anything to go by. Will anyone pick up the Swedish League (or Polish Extraleague) for 2016 ? I would love to see BT Sport do these leagues as they would do a great job of looking behind the racing itself and adding production values. I took out BT broadband and got free BT Sports free, great. Think I watched two footie games, a couple of bills later I got charged. Phoned them to query it and was told it was because they were going to show Champions League. I told them I didn't want it and to cancel it. As the broadband service was worse than useless I have now changed to Virgin.

Guess they are desperately trying to recoup the champions league billions - but struggling. Someone on an unofficial forum stated they have been reported to the ombudsman. Their broadband is the quickest in my area therefore can't leave. How did we ever survive without Wiffy. All very disappointing - I enjoyed telling them to stuff their BT Sports. steve roberts
Don't subscribe to BT or Sky. I am building up a great collection of DVDS of matches held during the seventies and eighties and jut wallow in nostalgia. Friday night is speedway night in my household!
