Crazy robin
At the time in 2015 we did not know much about Paul Starke at all.........it turned out he was a great pick but it did not start out like that Kyle Howarth may be one of the youngest reserves I have no issue with that but why is he in the draft now when he has been in the main team of several teams over the last few years.........and done reasonably well as well.............. RP Maybe all the promotors said at the meeting that they wouldn't give Kyle a place in their team in the 1-5 & they agreed it wasn't fair that a young rider lost out as a result. I have no problem with him being in it than a journeyman rider older than him & with much less ability. E I Addio
For the record, the Speedwáy Star averages for last seasons EL matches are :- Newman 8.41 Garrity 8.09 Auty 7.29 Kerr 7..15 Birks 7.13 Worrall 6.98 Wright 6.63 Blackbird 6.37 Starke5.34 Sarjeant5.23 The others aren't listed It's also worth mentioning that according to the SS stats Newmans away average was better than anyone else's home average, except for Garrity's. No doubt about it that Newman was far and away the outstanding EDR rider. Edited November 7, 2015 by E I Addio

heathen chemistry
Thats not our fault though, is it. one can only assume someone put pressure on wolves not to pick starke, as starke had riding for cradley at monmore quite well, it was a no brainer to pick starke..... Ive already given you my take. We have a promoter who's very quick of the mark, nothing to do with getting things our way. Matt is miles and miles ahead of everybody. bruno
IT does seem as though all rule changes benefit Poole but I reckon 8 Matt fords would be better than 1 Matt ford and 7 muppets.maybe a disaster but then again maybe not

salty
I get where you are coming from but rule changes are made for everyone not just Poole..............its just that Poole use the rules to a better advantage than other promotions............... RP I'd agree with that. I said when the FTR scheme was first introduced that promotions will pay lip service to the benefits of the scheme for young British riders, but would be more concerned with exploiting the scheme so as to gain an advantage. We were all aware how frustrated the Pirates were with their efforts to get a fruitful return from their second reserve in the first season. In the end it didn't really matter because Kyle Newman was so effective that he became the trump card which played a key role in delivering the title. Therefore, given the potency of Newman it seems daft that the Pirates have also benefited from early picks in the second tier for the past two drafts. Given that Kyle is a protected asset they in effect only get one pick. Surely as the champs logic should see that when they do get a pick (in the second tier) that they should get 8th pick?
