KIRKYLANE
After a tremendous performance in Melbourne and his glorious career one has to say that Greg is the best ever American Speedway rider. One wonders how long he can go on at this level..... he has stated that it is all systems go for next year.....can he go on until 50 or possibly further? One thing for certain he is an extremely popular rider with supporters and riders alike...possibly with one exception !!!
customhouseregular
I see no reason why he can't remain at the top for a few more years.
Fromafar
I see no reason why he can't remain at the top for a few more years. He certainly has no trouble keeping up with the pace in gps,he might cut back a bit on his domestic programme if he starts to feel his age.He is well set up for years to come though. The White Knight
Well, I for one hope that Greg has a few years left. If you are good enough - age doesn't matter. That means those at the top end as well as those at the bottom end of the age range.

KIRKYLANE
if gps are going to break into the usa, need a top American around I would like to think that a new generation USA GP rider will come to fruition..... but the pool of young talented USa riders is quite small and probably not likely for a few years... Guest
Wal Morton and Geoff Pynar made it to 52 and i believe super Jimmy Sqibb made it to 54 The South African rider Keith Harvey was past 50 years when he retired in 1947. In the USA, both still riding - in California Harlan Bast Senior is 80 years old while in New York State Gene Bonsignore is in his mid-60s. ColinMills
larrry ross won the nz south island championship aged 54. no offence, but if Jason bunyan is a top rider, larry ross at 54 isn't overly impressive......NZ speedway holds 3rd most world titles, such a shame for their decline over the yrs
waiheke1
was just an example of a rider still racing at an advanced age, and tbh an indictment of where nz speedway is at.
BWitcher
Although not racing regularly, Sam Ermolenko still takes part in a few meetings a year. If it weren't for the accumulation of injuries he suffered he'd almost certainly still be racing full time. He'll be 55 in 3 weeks time. Darcy Ward and Maciej Janowski two of his scalps in his 50's Edited November 2, 2015 by BWitcher
