Popular Post TheReturn
It seems to me since HanCOCK's cowardly thuggery on Nicki earlier in the season it's been open season on Nicki. It's ok for them to ride hard on Nicki, but the moment Nicki hard rides anyone else they are having a go at him and I place the blame firmly at HanCOCK and the speedway authorities for not punishing Hancock for his actions at the time. I appreciate the Hancock lovers on here will disagree with me and I will be a lone voice, but there seems to be something of a bullying culture developing against Nicki.

allthegearbutnaeidea
That wasn't so much Pedersen, him and Masters had words but it was more the fact that the 'wee scuffle' had finished and Pedersens mechanics went for him which was not needed, imo I dont like Pedersen but he didnt do anything wrong, this is from a Berwick fan as well

G the Bee
You are no way a lone voice. If the situation had been reversed earlier this year and Pedersen had clothes-lined Greg, I suspect the repercussions would have been far greater and the punishment dished out much harsher. You would have seen riders pressurising the authorities for a lengthy ban... refusing to ride against him. All sorts.
R87
I think it's a double-edged sword. No doubt that Pedersen has stepped over the line in the past and to a point it's understandable that other riders are wary of the reputation he's cultivated over the years and, even when he's the innocent party, riders will jump to the conclusion that he's a dirty rider who just wants to knock everyone out the way to win. That said, Hancock should have been more severely dealt with for what happened earlier in the season. Seems as the elder statesman and Mr clean cut, people will side with him. At the end of the day, Nicki has 3 world titles and a host of other honours. I doubt he gives a monkey's what other people think of him.
CB252
Hancock lovers The thing I find amusing about it all is that, when Hancock rode for the Bees, I've stood in stadiums up and down the country and listened to him called every swear word under the sun and had every possible hand gesture directed towards him. I suspect some of those people are now in the 'Hancock Lover' brigade, proving that the fans are as two faced as the riders.

foreverblue
so class is determined by speed of an engine now No just by being the better rider which he has proved by coming second and in my opinion Greg is a classy guy too. Jonimac
Totally agree with the sentiments of this thread. Sad for speedway as it seems to have taken the edge off Nicki. Masters simply demonstarted his lack of experience at this level, and objected to a move which was far less agressive than the some of the other incidents in the meeting. Chris Harris needs to have his peripheral vision check if he didn't see Janowski. And Hancock was certainly the root cause of the crash in the final, albeit it was mainly just first bend bunching. Kicking a former World Champion on track in your first Grand Prix? I'm sorry but that needs punishment. It's so easy to go for the pantomime villain, I would say if some mechanic was shouting in my face after an on track incident, I too would be sorely tempted to lay one on him. If they haven't got the nerve to be out there, they certainly shouldn't be remonstrating with riders. Perhaps due to the number of incidents that Nicki is involved with, part of their job is probably to protect their rider too?

The vast majority of the criticism Pedersen gets is totally out of order. He did some things in his younger days that were a bit naughty but now he is hard but fair. Plenty of the moves pulled by other riders are far worse than anything Pedersen does. Bomber needs to go to Specsavers if he didn't see Magic today. If Pedersen had pulled that move there would have been an enquiry and all sorts of rubbish being spouted. In the final Hancock did nothing wrong, just tight racing, but if Pedersen had been involved we all know who would have been to blame.
