PHILIPRISING
DAVID Gordon on BBC Radio Manchester this morning (instead of me!) and reiterated that the problems of turns 3/4 have not been entirely eradicated and that the matter is in the hands of MCC (Manchester City Council) and the contractors who have been instructed to relay the sub-base to their (MCC) satisfaction. Water seeping through to the surface after rain rather than going through the extensive drainage system appears to be one of the problems. Rest of the track is perfect. Confident things will be resolved by April 25. DG added that MCC had been very supportive of BV. Seems very likely that some sort of litigation will follow involving MCC and the contractors. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have done that 3-4 weeks ago? Rather than try and patch up. Would have give the track 5-6 weeks to settle then. Rather than constantly trying to rush and bodge?! Pinny
If you bought a new house and the roof leaked in a small area would you insist the builder replace the whole roof even if the builder told you he had found the problem and could fix it in a few days? If you had to then cancel your house warming party and then the next one after assuring all your friend that the leak was fixed but it leaked again, would you be happy to be accused of lying after your friend moaned that he had gone specially to bargain booze and bought a big bottle of extra strength cider especially for the occasion? Would you invite 6000 people to a house party whilst you knew the roof was leaking in the first place and let them all in?

You might insist, but you might not get. How many times have you heard of someone buying a new car and it turns out to be a duffer. They might insist the dealer/manufacturer changes the car, but its is not very often someone actually gets a new car, more often then not you will get a rectification. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. How many times have each of us said "if I only knew then what I know no". Belle Vue have obviously got this wrong from the start, wanting to have a high profile meeting very early in the year (end of March is very early), especially with a brand new track just laid over the winter months.. I would loved to have gone but decided not to on too accounts 1) it would be cold and as an "oldie" my blood is getting thinner 2) I still remember back in 1977 when Bristol speedway reopened, there was still a big hole on turn 3-4 when the public were going into the stadium. It was then I said never again to a first meeting, it didn't produce good racing that day, so lesson learned. I am sure when the new stadium opens, it will produce some of the best speedway in the UK, just like Hyde Road used to. And to the poster who has sent his tickets back for a refund, if you just sent them normal post, with no proof of BV receiving them, then you can class yourself as incompetent as you say those at Belle Vue are.

Possibly a rhetorical comment but I assume Saturday's National League fixture, which I'd diarised to go to, is postponed. Still showing on every relevant website, Facebook and twitter page as being on. Having paid for accommodation up front and travelled to Plymouth and gone to Ipswich for a rain off already this season I'd rather not travel this time, although as with the other two I'd find other things to do instead of feeling sorry for myself. Flatford Mill and Plymouth Hoe are rather more attractive options than Moss Side on a Saturday night though.

Reviresco
April 25th is two days before Belle Vue - Poole (Sky Scheduled meeting) is this significant? Just what I was thinking. So they are targeting 25 April now, two days before the Aces scheduled televised home fixture against Poole? Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be rushed again with the aim of having it ready in time for a 'big' fixture? 'Confident' is not a word I would be using in this context, or I doubt in how Sky Sports will be in this fixture taking place. The rest of the track being perfect doesn't really matter if the whole track is not usable for a speedway meeting. Looks like the riders who some people criticised for not riding at the Peter Craven Memorial weren't wrong then. Presumably an official statement will be made on the Club web-site and social media and confirm the cancellation of the Colts match on 16th and Round 2 of the British Youth Championships. Maybe the Belle Vue management will have the World Speedway League trophy to parade before their new Grand Opening Meeting. Phil The Ace
Belle vue -V- poole won't be first meeting. Sky want at least 3 meetings at track before they show any sky TV match at our gaff. So don't need to worry about that There is a fans Forum just been announced on Thursday at the stadium. Well done for having the balls to face the fans in a difficult time. Hopefully we should get more answers about what has happened etc Edited April 11, 2016 by Phil The Ace

Reviresco
There is a fans Forum just been announced on Thursday at the stadium. Well done for having the balls to face the fans in a difficult time. Hopefully we should get more answers about what has happened etc With this year's record, should we expect this to be postponed after they have everyone in the Peter Craven suite, or will they call it off two days before? Don't know about balls - this is the least that the fans deserve. I notice that the announcement makes a point of mentioning that the Track Shop will be open that evening. Hopefully people will have their refunds available to spend by then as the club must be desperate for money by now, paying riders' wages and a a forthcoming trip to Germany, with no money coming in. Hopefully the management will be honest this time as everyone is fed up with the inaccurate messages about track problems being fixed, and those put out on here by self-appointed club spokespeople.
