BWitcher
Belle Vue Statement as follows:- "Belle Vue Speedway - Good Friday Update Belle Vue Speedway wish to sincerely thank all the fans that have supported the club during this challenging time and we apologise to everyone for any inconvenience that last Saturday's abandonment has caused. An inspection of the circuit was made this morning (Wednesday March 23rd) of the remedial works carried by the track contractors on Turns 3 & 4, and progress of the works has been very positive. A further inspection of the track will be made later today with a view to arranging a closed practice session tomorrow, and if all is well it is the club's intention to proceed with their Good Friday fixture as planned at 1pm." This is excellent news, let's hope everything goes well during practice tomorrow and importantly in the meeting itself. It should also be noted that they have actually now apologised.. better late than never. Edited March 23, 2016 by BWitcher
LisaColette
Okay that's good. But why is the BV/Poole meeting called off then?
dj350z
Okay that's good. But why is the BV/Poole meeting called off then? It's probably going to take a little longer to get the BV track to be as poor as Poole's surface!!

Phil The Ace
Okay that's good. But why is the BV/Poole meeting called off then? Sky changed that. They want a few meetings run first to see how tracks goes before showing a sky match here.

LisaColette
Sky changed that. They want a few meetings run first to see how tracks goes before showing a sky match here.Okay, that's fair enough. The date will probably get changed again when sky decide they want it back nearer the restaging date!

Reviresco
Last season the SSS website was not very good at all in showing correct information. I will avoid drawing comparisons with the Belle Vue web-site AO.
PHILIPRISING
APPARENTLY track curator Colin Meredith is happy with the track now and that a full practice will be held tomorrow and he is confident it will be okay for Friday.
jammag
For those who use periscope it is very interesting to hear tais view on some of it. Listen 33 minutes in to hear some views from Saturday. Also quite plain talking about British speedway in general. Don't know how to post a link to periscope but those with the app will be able to listen to it.
heathen chemistry
His comments on the world cup was quite shocking but not surprising, the riders dont get paid , just there expenses are paid , tai had to wait 6 months to get his back £2600 but there must also be prize money for the winners or top 3 at least
iris123
. Car parking was always going to be a problem (tried parking at a London football club?) The only London football club with an equivalent attendance is Leyton Orient I think.Or are you comparing Belle Vues 6,000 with 40 or 50,000???? Hardly a fair comparison, almost all of Leyton Orient's support will live within 'the borough' and won't be rocking up with no idea where to park. Surely things like parking will sort themselves out as people get used to the place, hopefully the promotion will be aware of the parking problems experienced and will put plans in place for the big World Cup meetings. Reviresco
APPARENTLY track curator Colin Meredith is happy with the track now and that a full practice will be held tomorrow and he is confident it will be okay for Friday. APPARENTLY not... but then, as you say, it was a fluid situation, eh Phil... His comments on the world cup was quite shocking but not surprising, the riders dont get paid , just there expenses are paid , tai had to wait 6 months to get his back £2600 but there must also be prize money for the winners or top 3 at least Prize Money for the 2016 SWC ranges from US$ 25,000 for 1st Place down to US$ 8,500 for 9th Place. The Riders' travel and hotel expenses are included in the Prize Money which is paid directly by the FIM to the FMNs after the completion of the Final. Each Team Manager can request up to 18 free guest tickets for the use of each Rider competing at the meeting.
