Notenoughnerve
It will be more than a handful of riders and officials when the World Cup is on. It'd a bit early for putting up temporary stands for the middle of summer maybe?
Rob B
I'd read that too, but they looked two pretty substantial structures, capable of holding several hundred people. A little o.t.t for a handful of riders to view from. That was my thought too. I was told few weeks ago there would be a small terrace there for riders and officials but it is lot bigger then I expected so maybe its changed? It has its own dedicated turnstile and toilets but doesn't seem to be any access to grandstand or back straight so you are trapped in that small area from what we can make out. New Science
Its a new track, tested beforehand or not, I would think the chances of getting top class RACING is iffy. Time will sort it and I do believe the track will produce quality racing. Don't think that will cut much ice with those who have paid £20 / £25 or £65 for opening night tickets
stevehone
Nothing wrong with our track mate, sinse the KL riders decided to pretend they were rabbits.. not what's been put on twitter after p&p today, and it wasn't by Kings Lynn riders
OveFundinFan
Don't think that will cut much ice with those who have paid £20 / £25 or £65 for opening night tickets There is always a demand for the "opening night" of most things..... its like "something special" That's what took me and the wife down to Bristol speedway back in 1977, when Bristol was making a comeback. The track was lousy, therefore racing was not too good either, even though the star riders were there. That's one of the reason why I have not got tickets for the BV opening. Having said that, the atmosphere is going to be really good, I'm sure, and it is for the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy - which would be really something to win. Great memories of a great rider. Col
The Peter Craven Memorial meeting to open the new stadium will be my first visit to Belle Vue, the city of Manchester for a while & a speedway meeting in the UK for quite awhile. Where is it going to be best to park? Edited March 15, 2016 by Col

New Science
Wtf does that mean? I suppose it's possible it might not be top class speedway? Even the footy world cup final isn't guaranteed to be top class football is it ffs? If you've got a ticket I'm sure there'll be a healthy black market outside so you'll get something back if you are that worried about it 'cutting ice'. Even blossoms tickets were selling at a premium outside the Albert hall a couple of weeks ago and they are still less famous than Belle Vue Speedway (not for much longer though). 'To cut no ice' meaning: To fail to impress or influence someone or To fail to make an impression

KIRKYLANE
Gates open at 1500 hrs..... With a sell out the promotion hopes people will come early and avoid congestion near the start time. I will be there early.

CB252
Sounds like a fiasco for opening night. Heard from a good source last night at Brandon that the meeting was in danger of being off due to bends 3 and 4, but assumed that it had been sorted as they'd let the fans turn up. Notenoughnerve
I seriously blame the riders. Sell put crowd and we weren't that bothered what the racing was like. Follow each other round, we wouldn't have minded.. But a good news story has been turned into a bad news one.

It should've been called off a couple of days ago by the Promotion as you know what you'll get from the riders nowadays. Nothing.
