fliss44
As much as I would love to look forward to a new Coventry speedway track I ain't holding my breath. They didn't help themselves either on Friday with the lack of communication from the promoter re the riders not being able/bothered to meet their fans --- many of whom may have been kids wanting to meet their favourite rider. I'm now planning to make some trips to Belle Vue when possible. Can anyone advise me if the track is close to a railway or coach station please? E I Addio
It's nowhere near all Poole fans....in fact it's mainly just two. One who is incredibly jealous and one who is incredibly thick. Can't think who they might be. Give us a clue?

There is a Belle Vue train stop, but services are few & far between. If you get the train to Manchester Piccadilly, you can get a taxi to the stadium for 6 or 7 quid. Alternatively you could get the 201, 203 or 204 Stagecoach bus outside Manchester Piccadilly station on London Road & get off at Showcase Cinema on Hyde Road the stadium is at the back of the cinema. The buses are every 10 mins or so, the bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Edited March 13, 2016 by mikec

OveFundinFan
When talking about not seeing a new Coventry stadium, do remember BV is part of a sports village, its not just a speedway stadium but other sports all together on one site. That may interest councils like it did Manchester council and the new BV track. Just dont mention dog racing.!!

That's a good point Joe - the local schools, colleges & unemployed have to benefit from using the sports village for education & recreation as a condition of part of the funding for the BV Sports Village, as well as other sports being involved. Hopefully Coventry City Council will have a look at projects like ours & help the Bees secure their future.
martinmauger
Indeed, the words 'oh, and a speedway track' almost need tacking on at the very end of the project's mission statement....

That may interest councils like it did Manchester council and the new BV track. Just dont mention dog racing.!! A new stadium (if it ever happens) will not just be for speedway. Dont think any new stadium in any sport can just be for just that sport. Really needs to have multi use like Belle Vue. hyderd
with what Belle Vue and their fans have been through since the new stadium was announced, those pictures make me feel proud to be a fan of the mighty Belle Vue Aces.

Now see it is more advanced than I originally imagined. As for jealousy, I cant believe anyone would be jealous. They, like me, should be very pleased for such a stadium in the EL. Wish Poole Council had the funds to do the same for Wimborne Road. So envious of your great looking stadium, yes. Cant wait to come up in a couple of weeks time to see it myself. And pick up the points.
EnglishRoundabout
Best of British this season to the Aces and their long suffering fans. Let's hope all goes well with the track. If it's half as good as Hyde Road then you guys are in for a treat.

Starman2006
Really impressive & poor old Starman & Shovlar will be so gutted that it is ready on time. Why, show me where i have said i don't think it will be ready on time ? I commented on the fact that the back straight grandstand looks bigger in the picture than it did via droom.
