Rob B
What's happened to the bank holiday Monday fixtures at Belle Vue? All dissappeared from fixtures without a reason given. Probably to do with stock cars being on same day next door.

Like wolves, they no longer run on a bank holiday Monday as Poland have been riding also the past few seasons.
Notenoughnerve
Yes, they dropped their price to make it the same as the other EL tracks!! 😂 So they have been ripping fans off in previous seasons then? I have to say, I see lots of bleating about admission fees on this site in general and on this thread in particular. Now, my family are grown up and I'm on my way to decreptitude, but when they were little we all came to the Speedway. I first went with my folks in the 70's, it's a family sport. I view 17 sniffs as reasonable to get in for me. I have to say with kids free up to age 12, it makes it a deal. £34 for a family to see top flight pro sport is more than reasonable. I tell people at work the prices at Speedway and they're amazed hear youngsters are free. I watch Premier League football home and away and it's rare to get a single ticket anywhere for less than 35 snots. Even going to the pictures these days will cost a family something similar.
ouch
It's a great deal for kids. Some clubs charge for five year olds and above, that's seven years paying to get them in when it's free at Belle Vue. Anyone doing that are rip off merchants in my mind. Steve Shovlar
To be honest I dont care how much it is to get in as long as its not rained off. A long way to go to watch the BV v Poole meeting but looking firward to the visit and four big fat juicy points.

I assumed that's what you must have meant by looking forward to the 4 big fat juicy points.

People are moaning about the price to sit in the new stand, not the price to stand on a concrete terrace.Time will tell but can't see the point of building a brand spanking new stand if no one is going to use it to watch Elite League speedway. woodenspoon
From what I see on the plans, there are separate turnstiles for the Main Stand, and the standing South Terracing, will this mean that there will be no access to the Main Stand Concourse for the back straight terrace fans. Will they have to wait until after the meeting ? I can see this as being a real three tier stadium, Corporate, Better off, and standing fans, which we will have to get used to. Phil The Ace
I don't like using comparisons to football but this stadium is of an equivalent to a premier league ground. It's very much like old trafford/emptyad.just not on a smaller scale. You will all be blown away. They have gone through every small detail like for example the Stadium will have WiFi. It's the little things. Queuing shouldn't be a problem to. There is many as 8 to 10 turnstiles dotted all round the Stadium. Only problem will be parking. I have purchased a parking spot at the price of £120 within the Stadium. BTW the viewing is terrific. You are right on top of the track. You will feel the racing. Trust me And we got hot showers. Clubs take note:) :)
AndyJ
Only problem will be parking. I have purchased a parking spot at the price of £120 within the Stadium. Everything sounds absolutely fantastic, and I cannot wait to experience it, but do have serious concerns about the parking. Do we know for certain that arrangements are in place to use the cinema car park? The new stadium looks to have only a fraction of the greyhound stadium parking and we are (hopefully!) expecting to see crowds increasing substantially 2016 and beyond. hyderd
parking could indeed be a problem however, if local fans could use public transport it would ease the problem for those fans who have little choice but to use their cars. There is also car share and perhaps the missus could drop their husband and kids off and pick them up in the station car park or other agreed place. Public transport is not as expensive as people think, and adult dayrider is only £4.10, 15-19 year olds can now purchase a young persons dayrider for only £2.00 (no ID is necessary to purchase there tickets) Normal league meetings shouldn't be to much of a headache for parking, but the sell out matches will/could be so perhaps the above is worth a thought. PS I live in Stockport, I am taking my grandson to his first speedway meeting, his Mum will drop us off and my wife will pick us up. No headache for me. ouch
I've parked in the cinema car park for twenty odd years and I'm going to continue to do so, I'll just walk right instead of left.
BWitcher
Imagine the gnashing of teeth from that southern fishing village if Coventry and Swindon get their brand shiny new stadia and the pugrats are still renting their council house Ford has already mocked Buster Chapman for spending money on a stadium. Since the new Belle Vue stadium was announced the moaners first said it will never happen. Then, when it was obvious it would happen, they said they would believe it when they see it. They said Belle Vue would never afford to keep up the payments and would go out of business, forgetting that were losing money hand over fist at the dog track and were going out of business anyway. The first season has been pretty much covered by the opening meeting and st sales, not to mention the swc and British final!! They said it was just 'another Peterborough' even though it wasn't going to be another tin shed and grassy bank in a farmers field, and was actually going to be a state of the art facility in a major city. They moaned that the tickets for the opening night were on sale too early yet hundreds were snapped up within the first few days of going on sale. They said it was too expensive and it is sold out. Now, eventhough it is cheaper to get in than it was at the dog track and there is nowhere cheaper in the el (in terms of price, everywhere else is much cheaper in every other way though), people are moaning about the price! Some miserable people just love a good old moan don't they ha ha! Not often we agree Drop a Cog, but in this case you are spot on!
OveFundinFan
I've parked in the cinema car park for twenty odd years and I'm going to continue to do so, I'll just walk right instead of left. The cinema that gets talked about is a few hundred yards away, nearer the old stadium, just of the main A57 Hyde Road
woodenspoon
The Cinema car park exits onto Kirkmanshulme Lane, about 200 yards from the New Stadium. I doubt very much that they will allow it to fill up with the speedway crowd, without expecting any payment. I think it will be chaos at the opening meeting, with cars jamming Kirkmanshulme Lane, and even if you have a parking spot in the stadium you will still have to get to it. Like has been said better to get someone to drop you off near the stadium and walk the rest.
BuxtonTiger
As I'm going to Leicester for the afternoon start and then rush up to Belle Vue for 6 PM I wonder where I am going to park? Is there a reason why Leicester are starting at 1pm or for that matter why are they not running Sunday?
Wee Eck
Ford has already mocked Buster Chapman for spending money on a stadium.Just for the sake of accuracy, Kings Lynn doesn't have a stadium. They don't even try to call it a stadium. They have an arena.
KIRKYLANE
It'll be like it used to be for the blrc, great stuff! I doubt it will be as bad as that other failed stadium though? A friend went to Wembley a couple of weeks ago and it took him two hours just to get from the stadium to the M1! Had a look around today and its fair to say the third and fourth turn is still a bit patchy. we have a new track. One can hardly expect it to be in perfect condition from the word go. To start off the track has to bed down and no matter how much tyre packing is done the track will have to be ridden in. This will take time. Steve Shovlar
Has there been some behind closed door practice to make sure the track rides ok? This is a sitting duck for a sold out stadium, biggest crowd in decades only to discover a Warsaw gp type track or worse. The track needs to be perfect from the first heat with no nails in coffins or shots through feet.
