tellboy
So unless you know one cheaper, he's right. £17 is the cheapest in the league. In my book cheapest means they are cheaper than any other. If it was worded joint cheapest as GB said then that's different.
mdmc82
So is normal admission price 20 quid? I haven't been to an elite league meeting for a few years now with ipswich in the premier. Just wondering if that's now the price at elite level. Other stadiums charge £17 regardless of if you are sitting or standing
New Science
Thanks for that info. So it's 3 quid to sit down. I'm up that way soon so will defo be visiting £23 to sit centre stand at Belle Vue Edited March 6, 2016 by New Science

Steve Shovlar
Belle Vue the most costly place in the UK to watch EL speedway. £23 is a lot. I could understand £20 as its a new stadium but its £6 less to watch the triple champs and sit front and centre.
hyderd
if people are prepared to pay £23 then Belle Vue will keep the price, but if the center Grandstand remains empty then perhaps the price will come down. At the end of the day it's about if we the fans are prepared to pay it or not, me myself I would pay £20 to sit but mostly I will be standing for £17
ouch
Have any other clubs dropped their admission fees? If it's just The Aces then I think they should be applauded.

Baldyman
So it's an extra 6 to sit in the centre of a stand. And it started well at 17. Hate it when it's extra to sit down. Although I always choose to sit I won't be sitting when I visit, that's a total piss take, to put it politely. Although I always choose to sit I won't be sitting when I visit, that's a total piss take, to put it politely. If it was a couple of pounds cheaper that would be fair enough but £6!! For that the seats need to be like the pricey ones at the cinemas.
mikebv
Pretty sure, given the size of the stadium, that after a few meetings you will have plenty of room in the 'standing area' to get out a fold away chair and watch the meeting sat on that.... With a tartan blanket across my knee, a flask of bovril in my plastic "gola" shoulder bag alongside my tupperware box of corned beef and beetroot butties, a new 'home made' programme board done for 2016 and 'robert' will indeed be my uncle... Now where have I put my denim sleeveless jacket, I must make sure that there is at least one space left on it to sew on my new Aces patch.... Happy days, roll on 2016....

Anyway, they might have a padded seat for Shovvy, but have they got a padded cell for Starman?

The best thing about the NSS opening is the panic form the south coast My God we can't have Poole not being the best at something! Funny thing is Shovvy has claimed in the past that speedway under sells its self and is too cheap, it should sell its self as a niche, premium product. BV offer an actual premium product and thus charge for it and he's getting upset about it As pointed out, if the £23 failed, they'll just adjust the price accordingly. Ask any business, far easier to drop your prices to the optimum level than it is to increase them because you can't cope with demand. Christ I had been cycnical about the NSS but some of the comments now it's happening are hilarious

Imagine the gnashing of teeth from that southern fishing village if Coventry and Swindon get their brand shiny new stadia and the pugrats are still renting their council house
Aces51
Nobody is forcing anybody to pay £23, it's a matter of choice. The view from anywhere in the stadium will be good. If you want to stand you can pay less than at many EL tracks and still get the benefits of a 21st century stadium with a track that looks like it's going to provide excellent racing. You can't compare it to Poole or any other old rented stadium. This is a brand new stadium purpose built for speedway, a flagship stadium that has to be paid for and it will be Belle Vue supporters who will have to provide the bulk of that income. I have bought my season ticket for the £20 seats and consider it good value compared to what I paid last year to watch speedway at Kirkmanshulme Lane.
LisaColette
£23 is a big jump from £17. Well it is to me, maybe I'm just broke!! People must be loaded up North. Well anyway, not ever likely that I will be at BV so at least I won't feel hard done by for wanting to sit down!

I think Aces like you said if you want to stand pay less the option is there, 23 quid is a lot but if you love speedway the track is good and facilities are good it is not bad compared to 17 quid at an old run down early nineteenth century facility.
