stevebrum
Great to see Scotty Nicholls back in the Team GB squad after talks with Rosco!!! No surprise given its at his home track, he won't want to miss out on the glory. Tai and Bomber are dead certs, so should Lambert (hopefully the National Stadium will give him as much chance to practise as he needs), then whoever else is in form. Scottie often goes missing at the big events (in recent years) so shouldn't expect a pick.
acef
Woffinden Harris Nicholls Cook That is a no brainer. England's 4 best rider, 2 of which will have home track knowledge by the time it comes around. Like Scott said, this will be our best chance for many a year

mdmc82
I think at this point I would pick Tai, Harris and then Nicholls & Cook on their home track. However I guess we are still to see how they all take to the new track. The British final will give Rosco an idea
buzznwoody
I have just been to pick up my tickets for the test event. Chris Morton was a very busy man indeed doing loads of jobs at the same time. who says men cant multitask. The banking on the track looks fantastic, the future looks very bright here at the home of the ACES.
KIRKYLANE
I have absolute confidence that Chris Morton will have designed a super race track. Also, we will have a stadium that British Speedway will be proud of. My biggest delight is that we will be able to go down the road of training schools and develop young British talent in the same way that Dent Oliver started training schools and introduced the Colts in the old division 2 in the 60's.

New Science
Great to see Scotty Nicholls back in the Team GB squad after talks with Rosco!!!How long has Rosco been in charge ? Scott has had 3 years to talk to Rosco but chose the TV studio over team GB.Now with Eurosport losing the TV contract and it being 1 meeting at his home track with no travelling now is conveniently the right time to return. If Eurosport still had the rights Scott would be still be in the studio.Got no problem with that but don't tell us he's doing us all a favour.Personally if Cook and Lambert are fit I would go with them, both improved significantly last year. Agree 100% and as much as I have always enjoyed watching Scott ride I do just wonder if this season will prove more difficult for him with a big home track as I don't think he has had raw speed for a coupleof years now but could get away with it round Kirky Lane
KIRKYLANE
The most important aspect of the team is to pick the best available team which will give GB the best chance of winning. Choosing Scott on his home track could be a vital part of that plan. Looking back in the past should be a minor part of team picking.

Sorry, but you clearly know nothing. The reasons for him declining to be a part of the GB squad was in protest at the lack of activity and promotion by the BSPA to provide opportunities and development for British riders. He's spoken with Rosco before but it's only this year that things have started changing, with Croatia and the Youth development stuff. These were the same reasons Lee Richardson made a stand a few years ago. It has nothing to do with TV - if you knew him, you'd know he'd much rather be racing.
EnglishRoundabout
Got to be a sensible call to recall Nicholls. Unless another English rider emerges this season, Nicholls strengthens the GB side as it stands.

B.V 72
Does the past really matter if Nicholls rides the new Belle vue track well and is in form at the time of the World cup then put him in the team.If not put in the 4 riders who are on better form at the time. Its all about G B doing the best they can in front of their home supporters. So pick the best 4 riders at the time and hope they can all give us fans something to cheer about and a great day at the speedway.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the refusal by the BSPA to allow British riders to compete in the SEC - the argument being how are British riders meant to get experience and develop on continental tracks when there is no chance for them unless they reach a certain level and get signed up in Poland etc. There was much more that led to that but I can assure you it was nothing to do with money or suit sponsorship, neither is the decision to return anything remotely to do with Eurosport. Bradders
I'm actually quite happy the more things descend into a Poole / Belle Vue slanging match. Big things happening, big season ahead and it starts in a few short weeks. Can't wait to see the stadium on the 30th - albeit only on tv I'm torn, as personally i have a hatred for Sky and how they have hardly gave BV any credit over the years much like they did for Ipswich when they were in the Elite lge. It is almost like if things don't include Poole,Coventry and Wolves then they ain't interested. So no shock Sky move Poole fixture forward as they suddenly want to know us now as we get the stadium. I'd love it if the match v Poole was cancelled and stop Sky coming up here, as personally i wish we could ban them from ever coming North of the M6 and showing the Aces at the new home, however at the same time i don't want the club to be hit by a call off. solrac
Poole will probably win the league however it's great to see a grand old team like Belle Vue set up home in the premier speedway venue in the UK, plus hosting World Cups etc ...

I know you cannot gurantee the weather up there but Why shouldn't Sky go to the new stadium ? On the same token, you cannot gurantee the weather anywhere nowadays..
