To The Point
It was owned by the Cochrane family, who bought the stadium 3 years ago. Over that time they had done slight improvements to make things better and had become fans off the speedway also, even attending some away matches. was that the haulage/ bus people

snapper
http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=2304 Â Doesn't seem as bad as what was made out. So does this mean that the Monarchs fully support the change in planning conditions or will they be asking the fans to object to it, interesting situation for all parties
edmon
So does this mean that the Monarchs fully support the change in planning conditions or will they be asking the fans to object to it, interesting situation for all parties Clearly the answer is to object unless a written guarantee is given for a new venue. Reasoning being that it was suggested by the council that there should have been objections put in for the adjacent estate before it was built. Reasoning being that it was suggested by the council that there should have been objections put in for the adjacent estate before it was built. Going to be a strange one as in the club PR they say the owners have become good supporters of the speedway so you think the club would want to support the application by the owners but if it goes through they have basically signed their own eviction order when a offer from a house builder is made to the the stadium owners. I would hope that the club had a plan B in place for a new location hopefully nearer Edinburgh maybe they had a private chat with the council during the civic reception last month.
TheScotsman
I'm confused. Â If the owners are happy to keep the stadium for speedway what is the council planning issue?

TheScotsman
That doesn't clear my confusion though George.
george.m
Could be a few things. One being, if you have a desirable commodity and are willing to sell it, you don't tell people you're willing to sell as the offers will be lower. New era Panthers
you should be more concerned about mitchell davey not getting his citizenship thing in time . If Edinburgh manage to get Mitchell in will he be on Continental tyres hoping for a Goodyear

jenga
just remember that 3/4 of the total circumferential band of the Tyre can be devoid of tread and still meet the pass requirements .(official M.O.T. statement).. in other words, you're Tyre can be bald as a coot on the outer edges,( no canvas or rips) but still be legal if 3/4 of the middle of the Tyre are on or above the tread depth. 1.6mm. Â so the next time you have a look at your Tyre,s and the edges are bald. seek proper advice on their condition, not a Tyre sales person . cos they will just sell you new ones . now thats way off topic ..
