tyretrax
Edinburgh number 7 will be all sorted soon Surely can't be Davey? Nothing against him but it has to be a Brit born and bred. Happy New Year to all my Edinburgh friends.
arnieg
Surely can't be Davey? Nothing against him but it has to be a Brit born and bred. Happy New Year to all my Edinburgh friends. That would exclude the next Mark Loram (he was born in Malta). And it clearly isn't the rule as Ellis Perks is Australian bred but has a place at Plymouth. Â But I would like to understand on basis Mitchell Davey would be eligible given that last week he was racing in the Queensland State title. Fenway Bleachers
Cos he married a Caffrey and that opens all doors. Nuff said!
stewmac
Problem with Mitchel Davey is that he has had umpteen chances and never proved to be better than mince. Why would this time be any different, especially as he's returning from a long lay-off with a serious injury?

scaramanga
the thing with mitchell davey is everything looks right he is always well turned out his gear looks to be in good order and his style is nice and tidy the only thing that isnt there is he does not score points i always thought he had it but just needed to make that next step something as others have said just dosnt look like happening given the amount of time hes been around
TheScotsman
I like Mitchell. Â He's had so many bad injuries though I just wonder whether he should give it up. Â Seems a really nice lad too.

Still wonder if Jack Andrew Smith will fill a reserve berth in the PL.

i really dont see how davey can be included into the pl as a 3pt brit.

Mr Blobby
Surely can't be Davey? Nothing against him but it has to be a Brit born and bred. Happy New Year to all my Edinburgh friends. Â All you need is a British passport and 3.00 point average and your sorted.
stewmac
To have any chance of success you need riders who can increase their averages. Â There's no way Mitchell Davey fits that bill I'm afraid....
Mr Blobby
To have any chance of success you need riders who can increase their averages. Â There's no way Mitchell Davey fits that bill I'm afraid.... Â The NL rider only needs to go out and beat his fellow number 7 IMO and if he can occasionally pick up points in other rides then great. I'm sure Mitchell is capable of beating the majority if not all of the other number 7s. Â That's if it is Mitchell of course. I'm sure all will be reveilled in the next month or so. stewmac
That's a flawed way of thinking Mr Blobby. Why? Because as the season goes on, the other number 7s will improve and therefore start beating Davey. He has never improved. That's my reason for rejecting him as a potential number 7. Shadders
Am I reading this right, Mitchell Davey as a potential 3 point number 7?
Dekker
Â <snip>it requires a unique bike set up which puts many away riders at a disadvantage straight away. Attitude comes into it too and as you say some riders are beaten before they start.</snip> Â The other thing about the dale is for a small track its fairly grippy, weather permitting, this gives most lower tier riders issues as they only see slick tracks 90% of the time. Â Seems blobby is putting down the groundwork for Davey at 7, although i've seen some refer to itas the brit rule which is a misnomer in some ways. stewmac
Davey wouldn't be a gamble on 3 points. He'd be a complete waste of 3 points.
