GlasgowGuy
Gavan may be worried, but we accept our position and look forward with optimism. With such a distinct and proven home advantage - a telling factor for many seasons now - of course you should feel optimistic.
jenga
i dont think there is a proven home advantage for Edinburgh, its just that teams were already beaten before they started . in 2015 it will be very different . the cookster has !gone
damosuzuki
Even with home advantage for Edinburgh, a good few teams should be able to pump monarchs at their own tracks home and carry a better lead in the cups, playoffs etc. I still hope glasgow and.Edinburgh meet in a final. As long as us weegies win. Edited December 30, 2015 by damosuzuki

Bagpuss
i dont think there is a proven home advantage for Edinburgh, its just that teams were already beaten before they started . in 2015 it will be very different . the cookster has !gone I think any track with a unique shape and/or surface and which proves challenging for away riders to score points on has a strong home advantage. As Dekker has mentioned somewhere recently, possibly on this thread, it requires a unique bike set up which puts many away riders at a disadvantage straight away. Attitude comes into it too and as you say some riders are beaten before they start. We had something very similar at Lynn 2004-2009, you just knew that quite a few matches would be 60+ wins because riders couldn't cope with the grip and speed. I think James Grieves even admitted once that for one match at Lynn per season it wasn't worth getting a bike done especially . Of course you also need a good team and like Lynn in the noughties Edinburgh build one more often than not, but they will always fair better than other good sides who ride on circuits which are easier for away riders to compete on.

damosuzuki
Edited - yes that's what I mean. Monarchs won't be as formidable away from home.

george.m
Apparently Louis Van Gaal can't give any advice to the Edinburgh promotion. He can't secure a 3 pointer either.

He's given plenty to the Glasgow promotion though.. How to spend big bucks and still win nothing
