Always helps to know who's who in speedway and on the BSF. Then I have been involved since the late '60's.

I focus on the national league part of the forum for obvious reasons.... This is only my third season following properly so am still getting to know who people are!

Well, I hope you have as many years enjoying the sport as I have (and that is a genuine sentiment and not "half-hearted" as gee-jay suggested previously).

With James advisory role with Mildenhall this season, it may add a bit of spice to the upcoming KOC matches.

it's on your website!!!

Cheers pal, it was not on original press release hence why I had not seen it.

Surely this is just banter just like Connor posting pictures of empty seats at last season s press night. All tongue in cheek and light hearted.

Reading some of the reaction I thought he had threatened to stab someone or something.

People do take life too serious at times

Nice to see Len still has the fire. He loves the banta also loves to promote the sport. I think Len is right and if he had done the same Team Dugard would be out there prams too.

Looking at the signing of Adam is great, Harris will do ok. Won't be long before Brennan can ride Little Spiller too. So you can see why other teams are worried.

Ellis , Ethan Spiller, Wood, Perks, knight, Brennan, or Harris / Powell / Phillips. Could be the way to go running scared I think not fighting our way to the top yes, But if you put the young Dugard and old Silver to work together those 2 would make the league. This is the place to be.

Please believe me that everyone involved wth the Leagues throughout Speedway is steaming about this....a short term gain, but believe me it will rebound big time.

Not the most sensible decision ever made.

But I don't believe you.

Whether you like it or not he's eligible to ride in the NL. Personally I'm not sure it is wise as it makes Eastbourne to top heavy, but as short term cover for Hughes it seems a reasonable move. And I don't blame Ellis, as he only gets 34 meetings in 7 months in the EL (assuming Poole make the playoffs).

You don't believe James, really? Think he would know if anyone does. If Adam wanted extra meetings, he should have taken one of the PL berths he was offered this season.

Everyone? Examples please?

Think James is a good enough example on his own, being the sponsor of the National League. Probably knows more people involved in speedway than you do at least. Never really a great plan to p1ss off your league's main sponsor.

so basically in this case "everyone" is one person ? ( still can't see where he's ineligible )

he's not ineligible that's why you can't see it! If 'James' is steaming because the league he sponsors to develop British talent has just taken on a very talented young Brit then he must be mad. And we wonder why speedway shoots itself in the foot it's because all the riders that draw crowds get ushered out.

You have a very poor grasp of language. JE said everyone - that means it only needs for their to be one person involved in the entire league who isn't hopping mad for the statement to be wrong. Yes JE probably knows more people than I do, but that doesn't mean I don't have some inside knowledge.

PS I spoke to an NL club official this evening who didn't seem particularly bothered by the signing of Ellis.

Yes Ellis probably should have taken a PL berth, but he didn't and that is his choice.

No, but I'm sure James would've received a lot of feedback on this issue and could provide names if he wanted to, but does he have to? And who said Adam was ineligible to ride in the NL this season?

Thank you for that comment. By your misuse of the word 'their' I can see that yours is not that brilliant.

Always love it when someone asks for names, then claims to have spoken to an official without giving their (not there) name themselves.

And I didn't claim that everyone was hopping mad. The League's sponsor did that. Maybe your grasp is not as strong as you believed?

Your level of comprehension is clearly quite poor as you are confusing yourself with JE. He claimed everyone was furious, I never claimed that you made that statement.

And I won't take lectures in anonymity from a sanctimonious drama queen who uses a nom de plume on the forum.

How can I be confusing myself with JE when I said that I didn't claim claim to be hopping mad, but that the League's sponsor had? That is distancing, not confusing.

You said that you had spoken with a league official - but no name given. Does that suggest there is no name to give?

And, "a sanctimonious drama queen who uses a nom de plume"? Where have I claimed to be superior to anyone? And 'arnieg' is not a nom de plume?

Sticks and stones buddy. Sticks and stones.
And remember, attack the post not the poster. Resorting to personal insults is neither a sign of maturity or intelligence.
