Sings4Speedway
I suspect the wage bill has increased this year with the inclusion of Bowen plus Ayres & Shanes wanting an increase (I suspect). However I tire of these demands constantly being met and the shortfall being pushed onto fans. If clubs were to say we pay £XX per position take it or leave it there may be a few rejections at first but there would still be plenty of takers come January when riders don't have team places.
Islander15
I see the admission to Central Park has crept up to £13 for the 2016 season. Does that make Kent the most expensive NL track in the country? I saw that and thought it was very expensive, £10 is what the NL should be imo. All increasing NL tickets do is drive up the other leagues as it closes the gap in price but with the standard of rider being the same.
Islander15
VAT at 20 per cent is the killer Because it increased this winter...
Ben91
Was making a general point (not defending Kent) and how it affects prices for all speedway. Makes the idea of £10 speedway unfeasible. How much of the £10 goes to the taxman? It does not leave much to run speedway. Medical cover, licences etc are the same in the NL as are in the EL. How so? 20% of £1 is 20 pence whichever way you cut it. Be it £10 or £13 the taxman is taking 20 pence from each £1. If it costs less for the punters then more are likely to attend. waco
Is Kent now the most expensive track in the National League or have others raised to this level ???

Ben91
I'm not so sure that people will worry that much with a difference of two or three pounds (less than the cost of a pint of beer) Of course they will if they are taking their entire family, or even if just going along with a partner. That extra £3 per person a week adds up very quickly. Then on top of that there are programmes, food and drink etc.
Wiseguy
its only a pound, its been £12 for 3 years, and under 12's still free, so unless the "whole family" are over 12 then it shouldn't really be too much more I can still take my 2 kids and they will get in free, programme staying the same price? if so it will cost me an extra pound a week to take me and my kids, not going to break the bank I don't think Kent always do things right, but not going to criticise them over this one

If the meeting looks like it might be very one sided or boring I wouldn't bother going for £13 but I would for £10. That said I would most probably go to Rye House on the Sunday before to get my £10 speedway fix with the beautiful ignorance of the additional fuel costs. Heathen1984
Be nice to get 15 races in aswell, every year I seem to go and never get the full 15 in.

It is rare that Kent fail even with the curfew. A meeting can be pushed through in 90 minutes so 2 hours should suffice unless there are unavoidable delays.

Sings4Speedway
From a quick scan I can see 3 meetings that didn't get to ht15 this year. vs Eastbourne with the big delays due to the Mason injury, Cradley due to several heathen fallers & Harris injury and Rye House where everybody fell. Not bad really.
arnieg
Three times last season - although the other two were just one heat short Just one heat lost in 2014 (v Cradley) Just once in 2013 - 2 heats lost v Scunthorpe That's 7 heats lost in total due to curfew over 3 seasons
Heathen1984
Ladt two seasons it aint been completed against cradley.
Sings4Speedway
Don't remember much of the 2014 encounter apart from the infamous 0-0 result in the reserves race. Yes the curfew is a curse as is the start time but id much rather have the curfew and speedway than none at all.
teaboy279
Tbf it's rare to lose heats but it has happened twice out of 3 visits from cradley. The only meeting to get completed was the one on a bank holiday Monday in our first season
Rebel1
Didn't get it through against Eastbourne Come now your being facetious. You had David Mason on the track with a suspected broken leg and the medics were not in a position to move him until an ambulance crew arrived. As I said unless something exceptional occurs! secsy1
One thing that never surprises me is the amount of criticism that riders suffer. Mainly from those who have never ridden a speedway bike. Let the riders get on with it and encourage them, the last thing any sportsman/woman wants is some idiot spouting how bad they are. They are participating to entertain you, enjoy themselves and possibly attain a decent level with money to boot! Leave the lads alone and let the talking come from this years performances. Good luck to all the Kent Riders in 2016 and hope you make all your supporters eat there words of criticism.
