blueherb777
If as exspected tommorrow ,Bowen lines up at no1 with the rapidly improving Ayres making two no 1,s in effect,,strong support from the entertaining James Shanes who is not as good yet as some think he is,and will need to sort his gating out to be up there with the big guns..Mason chipping in with steady 6,s and 7,s at home,, Clifton i can see averaging around 4 to 5 to start with and Verge taking into account that there are a lot of rookie reserves in other teams, can see holding his own at res.. and a rookie Jack Thomas at no7 who has the opportunity to show what he can do given time..Actually looks a half decent team to me... Playing devils advocate,I see it slightly different, although can understand your comments. Yes Bowen should be decent No 1 (but has a lot to live up to after Boxall,Lambert,Morley). Agree Ayres and Shanes are great, entertaining riders and worth watching. My problem is rest of team. Sorry but riders should be able to perform away - Mason does not. Clifton is a BIG risk after so long out of the game and could go either way - only time will tell. Young Thomas - all for giving these riders a go,again time will tell. But sorry - Verge has had lots of chances and has shown precious little progress - he gates great but does not see out 4 laps. Cannot see any joy AWAY and home losses to the big boys like Brum,Cradley etc. Fourth year in the NL and still do not seem capable of putting a challenging team together.
waco
AJ is king ,with regards to Verge not lasting 4 laps he had an arm pump problem and i know he has taken advice on how to cure it ,,if that is resolved i think he can improve.and maybe this can help his confidence which was a resulting condition...Hopefully you may see an improved rider this season,?,.. Nice lad,,i know he is capable of better than was seen last year...

waco
It is a form of cramping usually to the upper muscles of the arm but can also affect the muscles below the elbow.Usually in speedway riders in the right arm which is holding the bike up on the turns... blueherb777
It is a form of cramping usually to the upper muscles of the arm but can also affect the muscles below the elbow Thank you for that. Would affect controlling and riding a bike.
Pinny
How on earth is luke clifton a risk on a 3.00 average?!
TurnTwo
3.5 he will be racing in heat ones against the likes of Hughes Andrews Branford Hunter Greenwood Greenwood Terry Daley Clegg purchase Cockle smart
Pinny
Clifton in his day was quality in the NL. If hes come back with decent bikes and is serious, i see no reason why he cant average around 6 even after a big lay off ! Is there any footage of him online since he made his comeback? builderbob
from those no 2 you have listed i only see smart as a threat
gee jay
Sorry for my ignorance but what is a `arm pump problem` ? nicki pedersen had it a few years ago and needed an operation to combat it. evidently it effects motorcrossers more than speedway riders. i think it's to do with bloodflow to the forearms when you are gripping something tightly so the wrists/fingers can't hold on and is quite painful. if you want to look it up i think it's proper name is 'carpal tunnel syndrome' or something close. Alex2000
from those no 2 you have listed i only see smart as a threat Richard Andrews beat Morley round Kent multiple times so don't underestimate him. I can't see Clifton doing that much. 4.5 rider at most. I think Kelsey Dugard is a better choice as an upcoming rider rather than someone who has taken 10years out and knows they won't ever get any higher. Clifton in his day was quality in the NL. If hes come back with decent bikes and is serious, i see no reason why he cant average around 6 even after a big lay off ! Is there any footage of him online since he made his comeback? Exactly in his day not 10 years out of date!
arnieg
Last year David Speight came back after nine years out. And despite never reaching a six point average in his previous CL career averaged a respectable 4.69 in 2015. Clifton's comeback may not work, but if it does there is potentially a huge upside. TurnTwo
I think Richard Andrews form towards the end of last season probes why he should be in any team

blueherb777
1 Luke Bowen 2 Luke Clifton 3 James Shanes 4 David Mason 5 Danny Ayres 6 Danno Verge 7 Jack Thomas 8 Connor Locke I would guess that with Clifton being given a 3.50 average has forced Kent to go with Mason instead of Owen ? Then again perhaps I am way out !
blueherb777
Owen has said he is not riding this year on a full-time basis because of work commitments. Well that answered that then
Sings4Speedway
As an overall team I will take it. Bowen should be one of the top number ones in the league this year. Mason is solid and hopefully will settle in behind a team mate & offer solid advice to the less experienced members. Danno must be on his last chance surely? Heard every excuse in the book and still no improvement but might finally be the breakthrough year? As for Locke. Looked dreadful on his first spin at Central Park & his grasstrack results are not a hugely impressive but as last season proved number 8's are pointless. Nobody used them anyway so if he wants to try and get some laps after a meeting then fair play. As things stand Bowen for Morley and Mason for Baseby are equal swaps. Clifton must be better than Cousins and Thomas better than Sheppard so overall a better team than last year so lets hope the results improve as well.

And you would expect 2016 Danny Ayres and 2016 James Shanes to be improvements on their 2015 counterparts. PS Of all the riders who started the 2015 NL season with a real average Danny Ayres produced the biggest increase in GSA of any rider in the league.
Heathen1984
Looks decent team to me.
TurnTwo
Bowen should be good for 12 points where ever he goes. Clifton if hits the form that everyone says he could hit 4-6 at home 3-4 away. Shanes if his gating improves then I can see him hitting 10 at home 8 away. Mason at home I think is good for 7 and 4 away on the big tracks 6 on the smaller ones. Ayres trump card way above his 7 point average as long as he doesn't get angry with himself he is good for 10 wherever he goes. Thomas Is better than last years reserves but I can't see him being anything special this year I think he'll be good to hit his average maybe. And verge as stated above must be on his last chance but good luck to him as looked like he scored well in his last meeting at CP.
