screm
Tony Atkin/John Armstrong spring to mind - so they're OK? No of course not but three wrongs don`t make a right, lets be honest Atkin and Armstrong aren`t anywhere near PL level any more, Hall probably is. Islander15
Surely it's simple: if the signing is within the rules then it should be allowed. That's what rules exist for, and none of this 'in the best interests of the sport' nonsense that is purely a couple of people's opinions.
Ben91
So the logic is that a guy struggling to average four in the Premier League is too good for the NL but a rider with an eight point EL average (Ellis) is allowed. I'm fully behind both being allowed in, just stating the inconsistencies in rule "enforcement."
teaboy279
Yeah it makes no sense to me either. There has to be more to this story. I think Richard Hall would strengthen Brum slightly but can't see any rule that would suggest he should not be able to ride. Use my team as an example. This year we got Bowen on an 8 point average but he had a third tier average more recently then hall I believe. And in this case I have no doubt it's only temporary cover as I believe the moment Perry is fit he will be put straight back in.
ruckerroo
Perry is a mile better than hall these days tbph,
Halifaxtiger
Complete joke!! , Im outraged to be honest. How fair is it that they can use an average so far back when the league has changed and he has as a rider. It seems the case now that if your face fits you get a certain rule and if it doesnt then you dont. Dont matter who runs the BSPA its the same old crap and on that basis they wont get a penny from me. Vested interests rules yet again. I have said many times that we do not need an independent controller for the sport but we do need an independent adjudicator. This is one such occasion that proves me right. I applaud the BSPA for blocking this move, there is no way the likes of Hall, at their age and level of experience, should be plying their trade in our NL. That's not why he's been blocked, so its irrelevant. You're also wrong about senior riders. While I wouldn't want the NL taken over by them, having one or maybe two per team is a very good idea indeed. Jon Armstrong is a classic example : a vastly experienced rider who is always more than willing to share his knowledge. What could be better in a team of young lads ?
Alex2000
I am sure there is something else we are all overlooking. I know the Bspa are a bit dippy but surely they can't be that bad??

You're right because age etc wouldn't be a reason to block the move, can't think what it is at the moment though!
Leicester Hunter
I don't really see too much of an issue with this move I don't see any issue at all. and suspect that after appeal it will go through. I seriously doubt that. Let's not forget, back in 2008, it wasn't in the 'interests of British Speedway' that Mildenhall picked up a single match point all season. I know the Bspa are a bit dippy but surely they can't be that bad?? Wanna bet? See the example I just gave above. Different bunch of faces, yes, but still the same old crap.
spin king
So the BSPA are saying is that because he has a National League average from 2007, a National League team can sign Tai Woffinden.

Brummie Kev
Good to see a "fans questionnaire" on the Brummies site from the promotion trying to reach out to fans that once went. A few questions about a Thursday race night and also about moving up to the Premier League. It was in the local media last week that its being considered for 2017. Hopefully many fans whether they go every week or dont go, fill out the questionnaire and the club take all views on board. http://www.birminghambrummies.co/news.php?extend.2329

Reviresco
I notice that Danyon's CMA from 01 September is 7.05. Quite an increase on his starting average. Well done Dan and the great thing is that you are still like a kid in a sweetshop and as pleasant and likeable as you were when you started out in the sport just over 12 months ago. Onward and Upward.
Sings4Speedway
Danyon is definitely one of this seasons big hits & Brum have plenty of them. Below is a list of riders who regularly rode in the MDL over the previous 2 seasons. Name Start Ave Current Ave Hume 3.79 7.05 Bacon 4.42 7.83 JPB 3.00 6.71 Thomas 3.00 5.73 Halder 3.00 4.24 Kinsley 5.13 6.56 Bailey 6.02 8.48 Totals 28.36 40.04 As a side note 40.04 is a higher team average than Buxton, Cov, IOW, Rye & Stoke (yes most of the biggest improvers always come at reserve / 2nd string but all of the above have been mixing it / beating heat leaders this season) Just goes to prove that the riders are out there if they are given a decent chance and British speedway isn't in such a bad way!
Brummie Kev
You could single out any Birmingham rider for praise so far this season, they have been terrific and deliver every single week. Danyon is a totally different rider to what he was 12 months ago, he was a rider who could barely score 3 points a meeting. Fast forward to now and the transformation has been amazing. Got to say it was great to see Danyon walk out 5 year old Lenny, a Rye House fan who on his birthday came to Perry Barr to watch Danyon. It was his birthday so must say class of Danyon to make that little guys day. I get the feeling that the kind of guy he is, he always posing for photos and signing autographs with fans.
