Brummiestormer
Youngest ever speedway side in British speedway history! I don't see this being the title winning side everyone predicts! Coming from a Cradley fan i'll treat it with the credence it deserves
LordoftheShale
Welcome Danyon. A very good side on paper and I feel confident they will do well at home on a racers track like Perry Barr. Away wins as always will be the key to retaining the league title.
Alex2000
Good young looking team, however I think inexperience at the beginning of the season might catch them out for the title. (probably won't win over 2 legs against Eastbourne in the playoff final)
Brummie Kev
We won't win the title cos of the nonsense play off system introduced by the promoters.Eastbourne title to lose Edited February 1, 2016 by Brummie Kev

(probably won't win over 2 legs against Eastbourne in the playoff final) How inciteful saying we won't win over 2 legs--never would of thought of that Funny how last year teams fans accused us of winning at all costs and paying an enormous amount to do it when in fact it was probably just Zach going from reserve to heat leader that won us the title; to a team to young to win the title---well i have to say i don't really care, this season will probably be more fun than last year as we will see some good prospects hopefully progressing to give us an entertaining time---the title is Eastbournes already if it's the idiotic play offs anyway; so i'm resigned to that, so i can just enjoy the progress of our "Brummie Boys"
OGT
There is another downside to having such a young squad, apart from the obvious inexperience, it's the limited amount of sponsorship opportunities. I mean, look. Pubs etc-too young to drink Male grooming products-too young to shave Car/Van manufacturers-too young to drive Wedding planners-too young to get married Durex-too young to, well you get my drift.............................
uk_martin
...probably won't win over 2 legs against Eastbourne in the playoff final Where does the word "probably" fit into all this? Over 2 legs against Eastbourne is a nailed-on cast-iron all-bets-off certainty that nobody else, let alone the Brummies, is going to win the play-off final. The Dougards had best start investing in a good supply of Silver Polish to keep those trophies in pristine condition over the next winter, before the prices go up. Couldn't you have just written that? You don't know "Brummies_cut_n_paste" very well do you?

uk_martin
There is another downside to having such a young squad... On the up side, the average Brummies fan on the terraces can now have a new favourite great great grandchild
TurnTwo
It only takes a few injuries to any team and not being able to fit someone in and a winning team can become a losing team immediately
Northern monkey
Didnt the heathens take Eastbourne to a last heat decider at Arlington in the nockout cup? Nothings impossible and a think the eagles arent as strong as they was last year so defiantly beatable over 2 legs
Sings4Speedway
Not a shock signing but a very good one that makes the side look very solid. With a combination of Hume, JPB or Smith filling the reserve positions at any time that is a very potent lower end threat. Im also not convinced the Eagles will make the play offs and even if they do it doesn't have to be Brum who knock them out. Much to the annoyance of many Birmingham fans im sticking with them to finish top & win the play offs.
Steve Irving
Very good signing in Hume. Chris Louis has just signed him up for Ipswich and is predicting good things from him. Will be working closely with Jeremy Doncaster and Chris Louis this season and I believe Louis will be tuning his engines so I'd expect good progress from him this year. Could be a bargain. uk_martin
History's a funny old thing isn't it? This connection with Ipswich...it'll remind some of the early 1970's when Birmingham was effectively Ipswich's junior team when Joe Thurley and John Berry co-promoted the pair, until their fall-out. Let's see how long the new, slightly less formal arrangement lasts. Plus ça change plus c'est la même chose http://www.retro-speedway.com/news.php?extend.
Ben91
This is the team to watch in the NL this year without a doubt. Three heat leaders, one of whom is the brightest prospect in British Speedway at the moment, then the bottom four all have big potential. If the riders can stay injury free this side will walk the league, Spillers or no Spillers at Eastbourne it's simply a cut above.
